As i'm sure some enjoy your comments - those who live(d) this day in/day out don't apprecitate U. Just because one guy is a fraud, doesn't mean they all are.
I don't really care if some of you don't apprecitate me. I don't even know what apprecitate means, but it doesn't sound all that bad.

And, I never said that just because one guy is a fraud, it proves that they all are. But, I did say that it is a good thing for many cops that being honest is not a requirement of the job, because they would be out of a job if it was. And, I stand behind that comment. Whether you guys apprecitate me or not!

Sadly, I'm not sure they could have promoted anyone from within that would not have had a bad reputation or history behind them.
I don't know if this statement is true or not; but if so, it certainly sheds some light on the quality and the integrity of the boys in the ranks at the Fitchburg PD. The sad thing is that this same pathetic statement could be said about cops on many forces throughout our land. Not just Fitchburg. Plenty of skeletons in the closets and plenty of blue boys who have been caught with their fingers in a poopie pie. But yet, they continue to be on the forces and they continue to work towards their cushy retirements. Shouldn't honesty be a very important requirement for remaining a police officer?

Oh, the shame of it all; oh, the shame of it all.........

I have a solution for everyone. Mayor Wrong and the Shitty council should impose a residence tax on all of the Skeletons living in Bergerongs closet, that should balance the city budget. In fact it might even help out the state.

Balancing the budget would require a residence tax on all of the skeletons in the closets of all of the Fitchburg PD; not just Bergeron's. But, I think that you are on to something. Good suggestion!

Lost all credibility with your continued hatred of the police. You post negative, hateful remarks on all the blogs about the police. You seldom add any value to the postings.

You would have been better served to live in the 30ís somewhere in the Deep South.

I've got to say that George Bourque and Bernie Chartrand have to be among the best mayors this city has seen.

The troubles started after them and thats a fact.

Go back and read your history. George Bourque was just about solely responsible for importing all the puerto ricans for labor. Not a lie.

I want to congratulate Peter Bergeron. I was a former Fitchburg resident in my youth. I lived in an abusive home and was rescued by Officer Bergeron and placed in a home where I was loved. At another time many years later when I was down on myself he brought me to the hospital for help and stayed with me there until I was registered and examined and on my way back home. I moved to Florida last year and bumped into him after about 15 years of not seeing each other and we recognized each other right away. I thank you Peter for caring for me when I couldn't care for myself. It is people like you that made me a better person as I became an adult and you tought me to care for myself so I can care for others. Good luck - you deserve it. DB

I, too, congratulate Pete. I lived in the area for a while in the 1980s, right after I got out of college. Pete was undoubtedly the most decent, caring person I knew the whole time I lived here. I suspect a lot of the bashers here are motivated by nothing more than sour grapes because one of their own cronies didn't get the job.

Agreed, I'm glad he made the decision he did. Councilor Kaddy needs to spend some time in his own ward instead of constantly sticking his nose in the department heads business and telling them how to do their jobs.
Keep up the good work Chief! You'll turn this department around.
Kaddy should leave Fitchburg, he's useless, Don't he hang around with the little
