I have written letters to our reps and to Mayor Wong. Yes, Mayor Wong was seen driving by afterwards.
The overloaded left behind trash had been dragged back in by most residents. If the Mayor had taken a left then she would have seen some trash left behind with torn open bags just like is seen in this article.
If you continue down to congress place it is even worse than the picture that you seen depicted in the paper. Then go onto Highland Ave.
Look into residents yards, behind their houses. There is trash building up around Fitchburg. this is food trash.
As it is the new barrels for some reason create a maggot situation. I think it may be the moisture inside along with enough breaches for a fly to lay its eggs.
I applaud the Mayor with her response if that is why she was driving down Cedar street after my letter.
Instead of pointing the easy finger of blame, we need to address this situation.
Yes, the fact is that their are familys' living in fitchburg below the poverty level whom cannot afford the ten dollars to get rid of mattreses ect.
So, now their will be those who post;"I am not going to pay for their trash"..ect. Maybe not but you will be paying for an exterminator as the rodents set up shop at your house and or under your shed close to the food source.
Just because you're poor, doesn't mean you have to be an f'n slob. I work for a living, pay taxes, and my income would probably fall into "poverty level", but I know how to wipe my ass and clean up after myself.

Oh well, I own more than one home and do not have to live in my mommy's basement.
Let me ask. So, you label yourself as middleclass? You may be a fool but not middleclass.

You have absolutely Zero Class.

So you work everyday and you have more than one home. And you are mad because some people are not employed and have to collect food stamps?

Take a look at your average poor family in Fitchburg who recieves food stamps. Now let me ask you; would you like to trade lives for a year with them? They can have your job, your two homes and take vacations?

A guy told me the other day that he has given up looking for work. It has been five straight years since employment was available. He told me he would sit down at the work a day place from 5:30 am every morning only to discover that again there was no work available.

He did work a couple days over the past year for the work a day. They would give him a check for $48 for an 8 hour day. Now with the two days of work it equals a whopping $96 but he told me he has to spread this $98 out over a couple months time.

You need to feel fortunate that this recession didn't affect you at all! But still you complain about people recieving food stamps?? And you are a born again christian??

With all that Bible reading you never came across the parts where God demands you to feed the hungry? Do you gain any caring, sharing or empathy for the less fortunate at all after reading the Bible?

Let's get back to the topic. Lynch, why is the trash being left behind? I have a few ideas, but I'd like your take on the subject. Are people not placing it in the bin? It's pretty simple, unless you're a lazy slob who has no problem with living in squalor. After reading what you posted of the article, It appears that the people interviewed don't have any issues with the new system. hmmmm.
Now let's go off-topic, because YOU, Lynch brought it up. Boy, where do I start? For one thing, if these poopr, poor, poverty-stricken residents are so poor and poverty stricken, why do they produce so much trash? Secondly, What the hell is someone making $8/hour driving, if he pays $200/month for auto insurance?
I could go on and on, but your warped sense of reality is a waste of time. You and your pathetic, parasitic buddies need to STFU, get off your asses, start making better choices, and get a clue about the world around you. Most people receiving public assistance don't HAVE to do so-it's what they choose to do. Stop crying in your beer and take action, before the gravy train runs out!

The Bible states "He who does not work, does not eat".
