Too funny! Wonder where Lynch, Gonzalez and Darn Tootin were between the hours of 3am and 3:30am this morning? LMAO...

FITCHBURG -- A burglar broke into the city's police headquarters early Monday morning, stealing a "novelty item" and some clothing, according to Sgt. Glenn Fossa.

The suspect gained entry to a hallway on the first floor by breaking the window of an exterior security door. The break-in occurred around 3:27 a.m. and was discovered at 3:34 a.m., said Fossa.

Detectives are reviewing video surveillance of the police grounds.

Police have increased security twice at the station in the past few years, adding security doors and locks when the new community room was announced, and following the arrest of a local woman found in the hallway of headquarters over a year ago.

"Right now there's nothing to suggest the police department is at further risk," said Police Chief Robert DeMoura in a statement.

Stamos,

I have better things to do than to break into the police station in the wee hours of the night to steal clothing and a novelty item or two.

My concern, when it comes to thievery being committed at the police station, is in regards to the theft of drugs from the Evidence Room.

Cops nationwide have been helping themselves to the drugs that are stored in Evidence Rooms for as long as there has been drugs getting stored in police Evidence Rooms. I have read countless stories involving drugs that somehow just vanish while being stored as evidence by the police; or drugs that get stolen by the police themselves and replaced with harmless white powder.

Police Evidence Rooms are a favorite place to shop for many cops. My strong hunch is that the FPD's Evidence Room has been pilfered countless times over the years....and not by my, or Mr Lynch or Mr Gonzales or a wayward lass off the street...
