What is with this jury? Sure you can say Trayvon was acting suspicious wearing a hooded sweatshirt in Florida when the temperature was around 90 degrees and sure maybe he was looking in peoples windows and was known to be a thief. But what about the wanna be cop who shot him and claims 'I was just trying to protect myself and the neighborhood.' I don't believe this was race motivated but rather media driven.

You obviously didn't follow this trial very closely at all. The State had ZERO evidence and the witnesses they put on the stand dd more to help the defense than to help their own cause (Jenteal said that Trayvon went back and confronted Zimmerman). And the Defense attorney did a fine job of showing that the state had a weak case.

In the end justice was served and the system worked. Too bad a young man is dead but sometimes it's justified.

Who's the white guy? Certainly you don't mean George Zimmerman who despite his Caucasian sounding last name is Hispanic, identifies as Hispanic, and is not, in fact, white colored?

You prove yourself to be a blithering idiot day in and day out on these boards, but do try to keep up in this instance.

This case is indeed about race. If the dead child was white here would be no prosecution. Politically correct tral.

At the defense attorneys' post trial news conference, O'Mara zinged the press. His answer to the last question was : "George Zimmerman was picked on by two entities. One was the legal system, that should not have tried him in the first place. AND two - you, the media that convicted him before the trial. The media ran over him." (or words to that effect) You could tell the disdain O'Mara had for the media's handling of this case. Also, you could hear a pin drop after he gave the media his opinion, and walked away. His response was outstanding!!!!! He really let the media have it and it was all well-deserved.
Kudos to the defense.

I agree, there was no racist motive here, both were minorities and even though the media hyped up the incident to be racist it just isn't so.

The defense did an outstanding job when the forensic pathologist provided details that Zimmerman was on the bottom due to the shot being at point blank and not standing feet away when he took the shot.

The prosecution screwed themselves by demonstrating with a dummy that he could have not reached for his gun. If that was a real person under the attacker, don't worry that gun would have attained and used as Zimmerman did.

Zimmerman will always be looked at by some people as a killer but in this case he wasn't scared or nervous and did not plea guilty because he knew he was innocent. He also did not have a "dream team" of attorneys and loads of money to win his case.

The problem was mainly the media and the public who always wants to see a guilty verdict even for those are TRULY innocent. This is part of human nature because when someone dies for any reason there is always anger from the victims family.

Zimmerman did not let that bother him and he knew not to plea out even if it meant that he could have been found guilty and with a longer sentence. That is what a true innocent person does and should do.

The good Rev was making the rounds this morning on the news talk shows. He was all up in arms over the unjustice that was served. Just like he was back when OJ was found not guilty for killing those 2 white people.

He's a fraud and does nothing but trade onthe race card. He's made a very lucrative career out of it even if he doesn't pay his taxes.

The defense actually said, Travon MArtin was armed with, wait for it, a sidewalk as a weapon!

Just because the stalked got the better of the stalker, this is supposed to justify the fact that he was shot, point blank without a weapon!

It's an injustice all right, no matter how you slice it, Zimmerman was told not to pursue, he did anyway, the one he was pursuing got the better of him, so he shot him.

He will be found guilty in the civil case, same as OJ!

You really should spend a few hours and read hte court transcripts. You'd see how Zimmerman did stop and start to return to his vehicle. You'd see how he didn't stalk. But you keep on staying ignorant, the world shouldn't expect anything more from you.

Umm, because this was a self defense case and NOT stand your ground Zimmerman is immune from any and all civil action. In actuality, he should turn around and sue the Martin family for violating his civil rights. He's got a pretty solid case against NBC right now for doctorog the 911 tapes, hopefully he'll get a windfall there. The prosecution/state of FL should get sued sideways for this farce of a court case as well.

All I need to know is that you have spent zero time reading the court transcripts. If you had you'd see the fallacy in what you posted. Don't lash out at me because you're too slow or lazy to do a little research to support your point or disprove a statement.

As far as FL being the worst state, it's certainly up there but not because of this trial or the verdict.

Trayvon loosing his life is tragic; unfortunately yes he made a mistake when he decided to attack. He should have went to a store, he should have went home and/or he should have called the police.

I believe that it is his age which is riling everyone up. For his friend who testified, she doesn't think that "cracker" is a racial word. Well someone needs to tell her that yes it is!

I would have asked her if she would label anyone other than a white person a cracker? Chinese? Hispanic? Black?

Her use or anyones use is racially motivated. We need to have the conversation honestly.

When I grew up we had public service directions. Such as if a stranger is following you what to do....

The media played up on sensationalizing the story. No one knew it was rainy and dark till after the trial. The media kept playing on the sympathy by showing only Trayvon at 12 yrs old.

The media played clip by clip by clip to disprove Zimmermans injuries. Now in court they show Zimmerman busted up in the front and the back of the head!

One thing is you can not use self defense if you are being followed. You can be followed and called names and you cannot physically strike back. As the law is clear; "words alone are not mitigating circumstances for self defense."

I cannot see Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch minority to use racial slurs when calling 911; after all an African American could be answering the phone and or be the responding officer.

I am nota fan of this nations gun laws as I believe we need to have strict laws for those who carry guns! You should have to sign that you are never to follow anyone while carrying a gun!

People become more brave when carrying a gun. And they become more forward because they are sure that they are not going to die because they have ultimate power in the end.

I do not think that Zimmerman should be held accountable for Florida or federal gun law flaws and inadequacies.

I do not believe that Zimmerman is a racist. I do believe that Trayvons friend is racist as she points to race as a factor in everything. When she uses the word "cracker" she is using it to describe race ONLY. It is race motivated. Many white people take it as funny but some take offense.

President Obama made a mistake in making a statement as an investigation was ongoing as everyone listens to the president. But on the other hand he should begin the conversation on race that this country needs to have. But then people must also state to him that most of the murderors in Chicago look like his son if he were to have a son.

When a conversation takes place both sides have to be heard! When I lived in Boston I took an offense to the "stop black on black crime" parades and neighborhood rallies. In my mind it should be "stop the violence". You cannot have it both ways! On one statement some people want race to be the issue but then on the other end they also want race to be an issue. Such statements are relaying to me that you are saying that yes you want to be different. isolated and/or separated.

Trayvon made a fatal mistake when he decided to attack instead of going home. Yes Zimmerman was following but this is not a violent means.
