I like it. It's time to shake things up! If I get a letter telling me my current insurance is canceled and I can't see my trusted Doctor anymore I am excited. I need Obama to tell me who I can get insurance from and what doctor I can have. This is just great!

As soon as the web site is functional I plan on giving the entire world all of my personal information. I hope some kid in Zimbabwae get's my S.S. and bank account numbers and buys himself a kayak from Amazon.com .

Massachusetts health insurance premiums put it in the 5 highest rates for helath insurance in the country...I would say it isn't so good if it hasn't done anything for making healthcare more affordable...that is supposedly one of the goals of all this nonsense.
The fact that Obama and the Democrats in Washington knew that the launch would be atrocious and the continued almost daily announcements of issues with Obamacare, instead of them delaying the launch because it is a disaster falls clearly on their shoulders.
I find it interesting that Obama had time during his presidency to stick his nose into a conflict between a Black Professor and a White Cop...a Black man and a Latino that shot him, but Obama is MIA about the issues with the launch of his signature accomplishment. Bad leadership from an awful President.
It's just great you can't go back and remember how fast premiums for coverage rose before reform.

I suppose it was always cheap and never was a problem in the first place right factless!

http://www.commonwealthfund.org/Topics/SubTop...

Everyone's coverage was rising much faster than wages for years and years. We were paying more and more for less and less!

Of course i don't expect you to ever remember the past or anything relevant to WHY we needed healthcare reform at all since you can't even admit to things you said yesterday!!

Don't need to know what's in a Health Care Bill either. If you want to know you have to pass it first. That's called transparency.

All should give thanks for all in their life to Barack Obama. He has always been with man in spirit before his birth. And now he is here, in the flesh, a GOD on Earth come to save man from man, woman from woman. Barack Obama shall bring man to peace and rewrite our laws into his laws and remake the World into a better place and end death and suffering and disease and pain. All Praise and Glory be unto he that gave us life and purpose: Barack Obama.

Recent Republican complaints about the Affordable Care Act’s website are not without irony. It’s odd, for example, to hear GOP lawmakers complain about Americans struggling to sign up for benefits that GOP lawmakers don’t want Americans to have.

For that matter, Republicans appear outraged by consumers’ limited access to enrollment in health care marketplaces, but these same policymakers have spent months trying to sabotage the “navigators” program.

On the Senate floor yesterday, Senate Minority Whip John Cornyn (R-Texas) took this to an almost comical level.

“We’ve already heard anecdotal reports about Obamacare navigators, including a woman who had an outstanding arrest warrant at the time she was hired – along with former members of an organization known as ACORN, that’s had its own share of problems with corruption and lawbreaking.

“As I said a moment ago, these people will be allowed to collect some of the most sensitive personal information that we have as Americans.”

Oh, good. We haven’t heard Republicans complain about ACORN in months. It’s good to know the group that permanently closed its doors years ago is still on GOP lawmakers’ minds.

But even putting this aside, does Cornyn’s substantive point have merit? Actually no.

The Obama administration has partnered with organizations nationwide to hire navigators who’ve been tasked with helping American consumers navigate the new system and sign up for benefits they’re legally entitled to. Unsure if you’re eligible for your state’s exchange marketplace? A navigator can help. Confused about how to choose the coverage plan that’s best for you? A navigator can guide you through it.

Republican officials have determined that cracking down on navigators may help keep the uninsured from signing up for coverage, so they’ve gone to remarkable lengths to sabotage the program, with GOP policymakers blocking navigators from helping consumers who need a hand.

How is this any less offensive than a dysfunctional website? It’s not. Indeed, in some ways it’s worse – the Obama administration didn’t break the website on purpose, but Republicans are deliberately trying to make it harder for the uninsured to receive health care benefits.

And Cornyn is making matters worse. Navigators aren’t criminals; there is no ACORN plot; and those involved in the program aren’t “collecting sensitive personal information” on anyone. This is all just made up by a noise machine that can’t stop itself from trying to undermine the new system.

And so is rthe sabotage the country Republican noise machine!!!!

Sabotage is not Governence!

"on Republican efforts to sabotage the Affordable Care Act, including the recent focus on “navigators.” Leave it to Florida to take this to a new level.

Republican officials have determined that cracking down on navigators may help keep the uninsured from signing up for coverage. But Florida is taking this to levels unseen elsewhere.

Florida has issued an order that will prevent residents from finding out how they can sign up for expanded subsidized health insurance at county health departments.

The directive bans the outreach activities of “navigators,” or counselors hired under the Affordable Care Act to help low-income, uninsured residents sign up for the state’s expanded insurance program.

“This is another blatant and shameful attempt to intimidate groups who will be working to inform Americans about their new health insurance options and help them enroll in coverage, just like Medicare counselors have been doing for years,” said U.S. Department of Health and Human Services spokesman Fabien Levy.

Yes, actually, it is blatant and shameful, though Gov. Rick Scott’s (R) administration doesn’t seem to care.

A former county health director in the state added that the policy is “cruel and irresponsible,” and will “significantly compromise a multitude of needy Floridians from getting critical health care.” That’s also true, and I imagine, it’s the point.

Consider this in practical terms. A struggling family, lacking insurance, may go to a county health center seeking assistance. While there, a trained navigator is available to help that family sign up for coverage they can afford. According to Florida’s HHS, this is strictly prohibited because, well, because the Scott administration says so.

I recognize that the right gets a little hysterical when “Obamacare” comes up, but is anyone prepared to defend the Florida policy as sensible?

Incidentally, the Obama administration is getting a little tired of congressional Republicans trying to harass and intimidate navigators, too.

Sarah Kliff reported this week:

Republican lawmakers have questions for the groups signing up the uninsured for Obamacare. They have, in fact, lots of questions. Their questions were detailed in a three-page letter sent earlier this month to more than 100 “navigator” groups, which had received federal funding for health law enrollment.

Health and Human Services stepped in Monday morning with a response on behalf of the groups – and a retort.

“We are concerned about the timing of your inquiry given its potential to interfere with the Navigators ability to carry out their crucial efforts in assisting Americans who lack health insurance,” Jim Esquea, assistant secretary for legislaton at HHS, writes in a response to Congress.

How about USATODAY drivel?

"Navigators are considered crucial to the success of Obamacare because they're supposed to help consumers sort through a maze of insurance options and figure out whether they're eligible for federal subsidies or perhaps free or low-cost coverage through Medicaid. Polls show many people know very little about these options.

This is not the first time the federal government has paid organizations to help people make insurance choices. For nearly a decade — and without controversy — the Department of Health and Human Services has funded non-profit groups to help educate seniors about enrolling in private Medicare drug plans.

Oklahoma is among at least 17 Republican-controlled states that have taken steps to restrict navigators, a special category of workers created under the health law to help consumers learn about their options in the new online insurance marketplaces. Proponents of the law fear that actions will dampen enrollment.

Sabotage in 17 Red states!

You calling it drivel doesn't mean it isn't happening, it is.

Business week drivel!

In so many ways, geography is destiny when it comes to Obamacare. The cost of health plans offered on the new insurance marketplaces varies widely from state to state. Access to the expanded Medicaid program depends on where you live because many GOP-led states opted out of the expansion.

And for those who need some help figuring out how the new insurance exchanges work, there’s also a geographic divide. In most states, so-called navigators are available to assist the uninsured in enrolling either via the online sites or on paper. But in some states, these helpers are scarce.

Here’s why: Roughly a dozen Republican-led states have enacted laws that make it harder to become a navigator by either forcing them to complete more than the 20-to-30 hours of training the federal government requires or by making them apply for special licenses and charging annual fees to keep the paperwork current. There are exams to pass, too, and hefty $1,000 fines for violating the rules. Missouri, Ohio, and Tennessee passed broad legislation that prevents navigators from offering advice about health plans.
