Remember that last impeachment? When it boiled down to a president getting impeached by a bunch of stupid republicans for not keeping his pecker in his pants? I know, it was for lying to congress, but Jesus Christ, Stamos, when someone accuses me of sleeping around, whether it's my sister-in-law or congress, isn't my first reaction going to be F-NO? But he's back. And so isn't HIllary! She survived impeachment too! And a real sordid public tale involving her president husband. I guess life does imitate art! And here she comes! Who's going to beat HIllary, that last victim of republican pillorying?

IRS was checking ALL political groups inclusing Liberal, Bush did the ILLEGAL Wiretapping, rememeber, of course you don't, what the DOJ did here was done many times by the Bush admin, no information on the calls whatsoever, just who called what numbers, again, IOKIYAR and as for BENGHAZI, just plain BS all around, there is nothing after 9 investigations where as during the Bush years, there were 52 attacks on Embassy's or US Consolates, 13 deaths, 3 investigations!!!

It's a which hunt that is not turning out for the GOP.

Keep trying to scandal this president, waste tax payer money's on BS invenstigations, kinda like you've been doing since the Clintons went to Washington.

Why does every ginned up scandal have to compare to ACTUAL Republican scandls? BENGHAZI is nothing like Watergate, nothing like Iran Contra, of which BTW, Ollie North can still be free!!!!

"The controversy surrounding Benghazi effectively "went away" yesterday, and given the latest information, it's hard to imagine how any serious person could disagree.

The White House yesterday afternoon released the inter-agency communications that went into crafting the "talking points" requested by Congress last September. Lawmakers already saw these materials months ago -- they found nothing controversial at the time -- but Republicans and the media decided it was time to see them again.

So, the administration, eager to put the matter to rest, released the documents. In turn, we learned what we already knew: there was no cover-up; State and the CIA engaged in a predictable bureaucratic "tug of war"; and this:

The internal debate did not include political interference from the White House, according to the e-mails, which were provided to congressional intelligence committees several months ago.

And with that, everything Republican conspiracy theorists desperately wanted Americans to believe -- there's a scandal; there's a cover-up; there's evidence the White House manipulated and lied about a crisis for political ends -- suddenly evaporated before our very eyes.

House Speaker John Boehner's (R-Ohio) office issued a statement last night saying the revelations raised more questions. In fact, I have one myself: how is any fair-minded person still expected to take the Republican arguments about this non-scandal seriously?

What's more, note that most sensible people realized the right's conspiracy theories were wrong, which is why the so-called "controversy" was relegated to Republican media, until last Friday's report from ABC News pushed the story into the mainstream. That ABC News report, we now know, was wrong.

There's just nothing left. Trying to characterize this as a genuine political story worthy of attention has been a misguided partisan exercise for months, but now, it's reached the point of ridiculousness. Every reporter saying the White House is engulfed in "three scandals" is misleading the public -- there was a deadly attack against a U.S. diplomatic outpost last year, which left four Americans dead. It was a tragedy; it was not a political controversy.

Put a fork in the Benghazi story; it's done."

I'm not a republican or a democrat I'm an American who doesn't like being lied to. If you are so party biased that you can't see any problems then that's your problem. Stick your head back in the sand.

I would never say it's only one party or politician that lies, they all do. They won't agree on anything that helps the people but when it's something that will enhance their own career and personal wealth they are all reaching across the aisle and shaking hands.

You can pick and choose from both sides and they are all crooked. Look at John Edwards, he's a real peach.

Yes indeed, there are many Republicans who are now saying they are neither, and it's a crock of cheese frankly!!!!

If you could be trusted to actually be neutral, yeah sure, they are all screwing the public, but Republicans will still stand with Republicans when it comes to let's say what you all call entitlements and ending policies that support the working public, in this area, I can find plenty of your Leominster postings, with different names, supporting the austerity being pushed by Republicans that are the opposite of what is needed.

Have a look, the Deficit is coming down faster than it has ever since the end of WW2! Unemployment is also dropping fast, yet, you'll still come here and claim we need to screw poor people even more, take away SS (which we paid for and does not increase the debt), impose cuts to everything except what Corporations and rich people favor!

You're a 99% in support for the 1% running off with the whole of GDP!

Invest in infrastructure, NO! Say's you
Invest in Education, NO! Says you
Invest in the well being of the public, NO! Says you
Continue to give Oil and gas, too big to fail Banks and rich people massive tax breaks, YEAH, whoohoo say's you!

You are no independent, you're a Republican who is claiming you're not because then you would be along the lines of Donald Trump, Michelle BAchmann, Hermann Cain, Gov. Rick Perry, ALL of which topped the GOP Primary at one point in the last Presidential Election and all are lunatics, absent even a shred of intelligence.

Have all your partisan sideshow ducks lined up for a public hearing, whahoo, bring on the cameras and start the circus.

Uh oh, someone who is going to throw cold water on all that ridiculous side show circus, "only if it is in secret session"!

"Former Ambassador Thomas Pickering, a veteran diplomat from the Reagan and Bush administrations, co-authored the independent report on the Benghazi attack, and is eager to provide additional information to lawmakers investigating September's deadly violence. It's proving to be more difficult than it should be.

Over the weekend, House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) said Pickering "refused to come before our committee,"

but Issa was lying, BIG surprise here, IOKIYAR.

Pickering actually asked to appear before the panel, but Republican committee members, including Issa, chose not to extend an invitation.

Issa ultimately said he'd consider Pickering's testimony, but only if the public isn't permitted to hear the former ambassador has to say. Pickering said today he'll be happy to testify, but not in secret.

Thomas R. Pickering, chairman of the State Department review board that examined the Sept. 11, 2012, attack on the U.S. mission in Benghazi, Libya, said Thursday he is willing to testify in an open hearing but will not submit to the closed-door interview requested by House oversight committee's chairman, Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.)

In a letter to Issa, Pickering and the co-chairman of the Accountability Review Board, former Joint Chiefs of Staff chairman Mike Mullen, wrote that Issa had "taken liberal license to call into question the Board's work" and made charges that deserve to be answered in a public hearing.

If there's a logical explanation for Issa's position, it's a well-kept secret. The far-right California Republican loves Benghazi hearings, and invited as many reporters and cameras as the physical space will allow, but when it comes to one of the two people who oversaw an independent investigation of the incident, Issa all of a sudden wants to close the doors and keep the sunshine out.

It's almost as if Issa knows Pickering's facts will interfere with his partisan crusade and prefers some kind of ... cover-up."

Gee, why doesn't Issa want to have Pickering in a public hearing, hmmm, I wonder!

You have so much bottled up anger. I would say take up a hobby like knitting a sweater, it worked for my Grandmother but I doubt it's safe for you to be around sharp objects.

I would say you are brain washed and in your case it wouldn't take much soap but I'm not even sure you have a brain. Just keep believing what the government tells you and try to remember that the buttons on your shirt are not tasty sweet treats for you to eat.

CBS's Major Garrett told viewers last night something news consumers don't usually see or hear: House Republicans gave journalists bogus information, apparently on purpose, in the hopes of advancing the right's version of the Benghazi story.

As Josh Marshall explained, "Generally, once partisan, tendentious sources leak information that turns out to be wrong, nothing's ever done about it. That's for many reasons, some good or somewhat understandable, mostly bad. But on CBS Evening News tonight, Major Garrett did something I don't feel like I've seen in a really long time or maybe ever on a network news cast. He basically said straight out: Republicans told us these were the quotes; that wasn't true."

Given what we now know, congressional Republicans saw all of these materials in March, couldn't find anything controversial, and moved on. But last week, desperate to manufacture a scandal, unnamed Republicans on Capitol Hill started giving "quotes" from the materials to reporters, making it seem as if the White House made politically motivated edits of Benghazi talking points.

As Major Garrett reported last night, the "quotes" Republicans passed along to the media were bogus. The GOP seems to have made them up. ABC's Jonathan Karl didn't know that, and presented them as fact, touching off a media firestorm.

Why would Republicans do this, knowing that there was evidence that would prove them wrong?

Probably because Republicans assumed the White House wouldn't disclose all of the internal deliberations that went into writing the Benghazi talking points. When the White House did the opposite on Wednesday, giving news organizations everything, the GOP had been caught in its lie.

And yesterday, Major Garrett was willing to say so.

Maybe this was just an innocent mistake, rather than a deliberate attempt at deception? Nope: "On Monday, Mother Jones noted that the Republicans' interim report included the correct version of the emails, signaling that more malice and less incompetence may have been at play with the alleged alterations."

So, it appears there's a Benghazi scandal after all. It's not the wrongdoing Republicans alleged; it's the wrongdoing Republicans committed.

The question for Darrell Issa is pretty straightforward: when does the investigation begin as to which Republicans lied to journalists and when?

BENGHAZI!!!!!!!
