Planning board members have more common sense and intelligence than the City Council. Kudos to the planning board members!

I am still not getting the "image" problem- if someone wanted to open up a Curves franchise, a Hip Hop music store, a Catholic Book Store, an Exotic Dancer's Clothing Boutique, a Tatoo Parlor, a magazine store (all magazines allowed), whatever- would that metter? All these people ( I refuse to call them pro-lifers- how dumb) would still attempt to keep medical offices out of Fitchburg- I really hope the council does not back down.

You know what residents of Fitchburg, your downtown is a wasteland! You can't even get businesses to open up on Main St and now you want to limit who can open up downtown??? You don't want a doctor's office or a professional office downtown??? This is rediculous! Main St is where doctors and businesses should be. But that's fine, just keep opening up bars and churches in your storefronts and social service agencies and pretty soon you will be another Lawrence. I am so thankful that I live in Leominster.

Absolutely discrimination. Shame on all the judgemental religiously-dangerous pro-lifers who think THEY have the right to tell other people how to handle their birth control needs.

Fitchburg may not be where you would choose to live but I'll pass on the corruption that Leominster calls government. Not all the residents of Fitchburg are in favor of restricting medical offices from coming to Main St. The only people really pushing this are the so called pro lifers. I don't know why they continue to support this change because it won't effect the only business they oppose. If they are successful in Fitchburg, any community that attempts to have a similar service whether by Planned Parenthood or any ohter agency will be faced with the same tactics. I hope the Fitchburg City Council votes against this ordinance to put an end to it once and for all.

these pro life idiots are the worst of the worst. I would rather live in a city run by gang members than these psychos. They think that it is their god given mission to control the lives of the people around them, they don't believe in freedom, and they are totally immoral. They are trying to manipulate the laws in favor of their OPINION. I personally believe in individual freedoms, so obviously these people make me sick. I just hope that one day these sick people will realize that they are using force (i.e. government) to take away freedom.

You bunch of idiots. Fitchburg is not banning nothing. You need a permit to open a medical office. You need a permit for everything so why not this.

You are correct that you need a permit to open any business. What the prolifers are trying to promote is the need for a special permit to prevent a specific type of business from opening in a specific area. Make no mistake, they will not keep Planned Parenthood from opening on Main St because by the time the ordinance is enacted, if it is enacted, it will not apply to that organization and all they will have accomplished is successfully deterring other medical professionals from opening in the central business district. Another thing they will have accomplished is to set a precedent that they can use to bully other communities. The Fitchburg City Council should take a stand and refuse to enact this ordinance.

Yes Fitchburg has seen better days, but don't fool yourself. Leominster has just as many issues they're just not as visible and are kept quiet. Leominster likes to keep up appearances. Fitchburg on the other hand puts too many of their issues out for all to see. Leominster Resident wake up Fitchburg wrote: You know what residents of Fitchburg, your downtown is a wasteland! I think Dr.Rollo and several other doctors in the area are concerned that they will lose income from insurance companies due to the loss of patients to planned parenthood. And to the local priest's that posted their names in protest of planned parenthood you have other things to worry about if you smell what i'm cooking.

Mary Sanger who started Planned Parenthood was related by blood to all the other members of the Illumanati. The word Illumanati means the Illuminated Ones. The name Lucifer means Bearer of Light. As long as everyone in this area does not believe that real evil exists then we will get nowhere. The greatest weapon that satan uses is a skeptical public! Planned Parenthood is a front to kill off human beings and is part of the New World Order agenda. Keep standing strong for all Human Life!
