I like the idea that he was chosen from out of the state and he brings the ATF professionalism into a department that is more dysfunctional than DCF.

I just hope his Attleboro ties does not come from a good ole boy network like Fitchburg's and Lowell as we all know how that has worked out for the two cities!

On Demouras way out he labeled Fitchburg as a mini me of the city of Lowell.

I wonder how all the good ole boys liked to be referenced as the "little Lowell" ?

Thanks for the comparison Demoura as by stating that you just took a piss on the only group in Fitchburg who supported you!

Hey, Lynch- I'm betting that you'll be putting the knock on the new chief as soon as he figures out that you are a liar and crazy. Oh, and that...what did the present chief say?...Oh. That none of your claims are credible. All of which should take him about 90 seconds to figure out. After that, he will ignore your loony "advice" and you will accuse him of not being responsive to the community (meaning just you) and being part of the good old boy network and tied in with all of the other people who are objects of your hateful delusion.

I would have to agree that he is not qualified. Yes, he was in charge but at a low level in the ATF organization. The ATF is not the same as people would believe they see them as in the movies.

ATF is mostly desk jobs and a few times a year they will get called out to investigate a house full of guns. They are in the law enforcement business but not on the same level as PD officers. Just because they are Feds don't mean they can do the same job as a PD officer.

They will assist local and state agencies during raids but that has become limited.

He was not in charge of a $10 million plus budget.

I hope people don't believe that agents are "higher" ranked than the average PD officer. They just have jurisdiction to investigate situations that break Federal laws pertaining to Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.. PD officers do not want to be ATF agents because of the low pay.

ATF is now considered a stepping stone such as CO officers along the path to become a PD officer.

WELL, Well, well...this should keep a few of Fitchburg's lawmen on a much shorter leash. As I always say, Orgainized Crime cannot be successful without the support of members of the law enforcement community. This has been proven over and over again whenever successful organized crime enterprises are broken up and unraveled.

And, I have always STRONGLY felt that Fitchburg's Drug Dealers seem to show very little concern for the chances of the FPD doing much of anything. I have even seen Fitchburg cops joking around and being on a first name basis with known Drug Dealers.

Lets all welcome Heagney to our fine Burg. And, lets all wish him success as he steps up to the Drug Dealers. Even if he has to step up to a few of his own boys....

Good luck to the chief. Any rational person understands that a drug dealer has to have customers. It's not like like the drug dealers are flying airplanes into Fitchburg from Columbia and making $30 million a trip.

Wake up. The police are out numbered by the civilians who want their drugs. The Chief and the officers job is to try and reach a peaceful balance to protect the city as a whole.

In truth it's safer for the community to let drug addicts buy their $5 of drugs, get high and pass out than to keep it from them so they freak out and go on a crime wave.

Could be....could be....but I would much prefer to see Fitchburg's lawmen hassling and busting the Drug Dealers (which we rarely; if ever see) versus hassling basically law abiding people in another speed trap.(Which we always see). I agree that SOME resourses should be aimed at the Speeders; But, to basically put all the focus THERE while simply ignoring the Drug Dealers seems like either a lack of effort by the FPD. Or, a fear by the members of the FPD of actually having to deal with the real crimanals. Both of those are probably true, as well as the theory that certain members of the FPD are profitting by the illegal drug trade, by taking protection money from criminal organizations. After all; we know damn well that at least one cop (who was recently fired) was a VERY CLOSE FRIEND with a known Cocaine Dealer, while the cop was employed by the FPD. He apparently even vacationed at the Drug Dealers home.....of course, the horsesh#t story that was told to the public was that there was no need to suspect that anything wrong had actually happened. It just looked a little bit bad. That's all....and apparently that boob of a President of the Police Union, Garcia, did not feel that a cop who is close friends with a known Drug Dealer should lose his job over it....So much for "ethics" in the profession....

I'm not sure I follow your logic. So people who get caught red handed breaking the speed limit law are being caught and that's wrong to pull them over but people who are driving the speed limit but you suspect might be smoking a joint should be stopped?

Maybe the city should just shut the department down. Lost cause here. Y'all can do better without the police. Maybe the reason Wong didn't get a better Chief is because nobody wants to come. He's not needed anyway. All the know it alls here can do better solo.

Nice try idiot. Anymore armchair experts out there?

What happened to his background check?

Why is everyone so quiet? It's not about the job or saving Fitchburg, It's all about the money baby !

$149K wasn't enough for the ATF agent. He wanted much more than that.
