<quoted text> When a person takes a seasonal job, they do so knowing full-well that they will be looking for work again once the season is over. I think it is unfair to make businesses (the overwhelming majority of seasonal employers are small businesses)contribute money for this person to collect when the temporary nature of the job was understood. I support this.
Look I actually own a seasonal business from my perspective I could potentially make money off this hiring people in January and laying off at the end of March. The thing is though its easier on my end it would be pretty rough on the employees end without that safety net if they couldn't find work.

<quoted text>Not to nitpick, but you overstate the July growth. 15,200 is the number, revised from 13,200. here is the link
I don't know about the difference there, lets just say its wrong and 15,200 for July is right still 15,200 more jobs is still even with a few season ones in there is good!

Deval Patrick Citing their commitment to rebuilding the economy, alternative energy and a commitment to citizens in all areas of the Commonwealth, the Patrick/Murray campaign was endorsed today by a group of mayors from the North Shore. The mayors include: Amesbury Mayor Thatcher Kezer III, Beverly Mayor Bill Scanlon Jr., Newburyport Mayor Donna Holaday, Peabody Mayor Michael Bonfanti and Salem Mayor Kimberly Driscoll.

I will never vote in this city again but on that day, I will go by my church and pray for those who lost their lives for giving us this right. If they only knew how corrupt it has become.

I was impressed with Baker when he worked as head of Administration and Finance for the State. I was working for the state at the time. Someone from my agency dimed out the Commissioner who was also the Chairman of the agency for threatening an investigator with termination if he did not fix the outcome of an investigation and it was reported it to Baker and Baker acted on it immediately. The Commissioner's contract was not renewed.

I am also in favor of Baker axing 5,000 state jobs. Has anyone seen the tv ad by the MCAD whoring for people to file complaints? They ran it in June of this past year. About 80% of complaints filed with MCAD get dismissed for a lack of probable cause. MCAD knew prior to soliciting the public for complaints that it would only close out after the complaints are filed. MCAD gets a certain amount of money from the feds for each investigation that it closes out.

Ten years ago, the MCAD had two offices, the main office in Boston and the other one in Springfield. When Dukakis cut state jobs back in the 90's, two of the MCAD's then four offices were closed. Now there are four offices again, the one in Worcester and the other one in New Bedford have been opened again. They advertised for business to keep people on the payroll, not because there are huge amounts of people being discriminated against and they need the resorces to enforce the anti-discrimination laws, not when they have had numerous employees who work at MCAD suing them for discrimination in the past decade!

The MCAD opened its doors in 1947. There is anti-discrimination info everywhere and most people are aware of their existence without MCAd having to resort to tv ads. In addition, the Office of the Attorney General has a Civil Rights Division to investigate the same type of complaints. Talk about duplicity.

This is a example of why state jobs should be, and need to be, elimiated.
