OK retard 456 dollars is the minimum corporate excise tax if it were not for that most corporations would pay NOTHING which is what they will be doing if Charlie gets in. YOUR tax dollars you know that money you pay when you file your tax return. Well your already payin more than the corporations when you file your personal tax return so whos payin who huh pookie did I dumb it down enough for ya, NO OK lets try this.
Massachusetts Corporations pay 456 minimum corp mass tax Charlie wants it to be ZERO
You an idividual pays roughly 1500 mass tax est 35K earnings
Hmm I think you might be paying more so whos supporting who huh?
You understand what a corp. is made of, right? There is plenty of taxes on corps. Shareholders/investors are taxed on capital gains. Management/labor are taxed on income. Besides, there is already a 35% fed corp. tax, which ranks as 2nd highest in the world. You say the $456 is meaningless but removing that pittance can be the difference in retaining jobs and not losing them to another state. But then again, what 'corporation' in Mass pays $456?

We have a health care system in this state and every state is going to need this we are ahead of the game here Deval did GOOD!
Take a look at what good ol Charles Baker is saying he going to DO when he's elected.
He's going to nail state employees pensions, holidays, and more.
He's going to make it more difficult to be elgible for unemployment.
He's going cut the state health programs prescription program which will wipe out diabetes and cancer patients.
Tax cuts for the corporations that are too small to do anything meaningful.
If you don't believe this go to Charlie's website.
Nailing state employees- It used to be that public employees would receive better benefits as an exchange for taking less pay than what could be made in the private sector. Nowadays, there is wage parity and so the benefits should be similar too. More difficult to get unemployment benefits- 2 pay periods usually means 4 weeks these days. That is a short amount of time to be let go then go on the dole. It costs businesses more money to replace an employee than to retain one, even a 3 week veteran. It is bad business on many levels to can someone after such a short time and should be done only if the employee is untrainable and incompetent, or engaged in malfeasance. Companies would only be abusing themselves. Cuts to state health programs- The federal gov't has taken responsibility for these programs.

No by 2 pay periods what was meant was 2 payroll quarters Jan-Mar, Apr-Jun, Jul-Sep, Oct-Dec. To be elgible you would have to be on two of those quarters there are some situations with season industries where this could be abused.

Deval Patrick Today, the office Labor and Workforce Development reported that the Massachusetts economy added 4,000 private sector jobs in August - the seventh straight month our economy has created jobs. Today's private sector growth follows the 20,700 jobs created in July - the largest monthly job gain in the private sector over the past twenty years.

This is good news and I am happy to hear it but, after reading the official release I'm not sure how this applies to Deval's job performance. The release states that the majority of the new jobs are in the leisure/hospitality sector, as well as the professional, scientific, and business services sector. I can't recall any legislation or lobbying by the governor to make this happen. Another way to look at it is this: this is the 3rd straight month for job gains in leisure/hosp. It also so happens to coincide with the summer months. Perhaps this is the seasonal employment in which you spoke of. The presser doesnt dig too deep but I guess we will see in the coming months.

When a person takes a seasonal job, they do so knowing full-well that they will be looking for work again once the season is over. I think it is unfair to make businesses (the overwhelming majority of seasonal employers are small businesses)contribute money for this person to collect when the temporary nature of the job was understood. I support this.

Not to nitpick, but you overstate the July growth. 15,200 is the number, revised from 13,200. here is the link http://lmi2.detma.org/lmi/Newsrelease/NewsLMI...

Further analysis of the presser reveals that while 4,100 unemployed found jobs, another 3,500 left the workforce via retirement or extended time out of work.
