You are very right! How stupid to avertise the exact locations of a planed black out. Thats why in California they say a rolling black out so no one will know where. Idiots, and the Police chief should have notified Unitil after the article and insisted on cancelling the plan, and reschedule it with an unannounced plan.

Making improvements to the electic system sounds like a great idea. Economic development is needed across the state and in the Fitchburg area. Why would a company come to this area if folks are always slamming companies for doing work that will help others. Seems very odd to me.

Steve we love it *When* they make improvements. But usually it is improvements for unitils benifit and not for their customers. After the ice storm we have no trust left in unitil. They tend to rape your bank account every chance that they get.

No one trusted them before the ice storm. They have never done anything to deserve it. Once everyone got confirmation of Unitil’s extreme ineptitude after the ice storm, we not only do not trust them, but would jump ship in a heartbeat if we actually had a choice of suppliers.

Unitil or should be (Until) 15 days without power, during that awful ice storm, was more than most people could have dealt with, but the cost, the B.S. and thier attitude, was more than enough, finally move back to Providence R.I.(don't know why post reads I'm from Leom.)So when Unitil says a few hours it means (until) whenever

Yes it does. I have lived else where myself. I moved back to this pit of hell to take care of two ill parents. You are lucky to have left. Nothing ever changes. If it was not for my mom and dad....they refuse to leave. Grrr. But I love my folks.

as a utility customer, any utility i would want to be notified if my power is being temp. shut down. This allows me to make plans, not that i have any at 3:00 AM in the morning.

I think everyone would survive for 2 hours without power. It is hot and humid. I think most New Englanders have been exposed to this before. Just like the ice storm. If you live in New England and didn't own a generator that would be stupidity on your own part. Why are there so many accidents in the winter? I am sure everyone whom lives here knows how to drive in the snow. That big # 1 on your shifter is for driving in the snow people. So lets see we are going to complain about a 2 hour loss of power in the summer? Yeah, right ! Get over it.

I have NGrid and was without power for nine days.. We live in New England, it snows, it rains and at times we have hurricanes. Bigger is not always better. Times are tough everywhere... Move on People, what about our state taxes going through the roof and programs being cutt? My electric bill goes up like yours!!!

if you don't mind me asking, do you own, or rent, a house? if so, what is the approximate size? how much power do you use regularly? most important, what is your avg monthly bill?

now ask that same question to residents that are REQUIRED to use unitil.
