When dogs of this breed attack they inflict more damage than any other breed. Their jaws have enormous power. I have not heard many reports of golden retrievers, poodles or chihuahuas killing human victims. This breed is a status symbol for people who want to either assert fear on others or are fearful themselves of people. The dog is a weapon and so it should be treated as one. Special training should be required of dog and owner. If you own one don't let it near children or adults who are uncomfortable with it or near it. It should be restrained at all times. Too many have died in my area from "cute" dogs of this breed that suddenly turn on owners or others.

Sadly, Pit Bull owners need to be licensed. The dog itself, like a gun is NOT the problem. The problem lies among the vast majority of owners themselves who either lack discipline, or are incapable of it all together. They are the ones who give up alpha and permit these dogs to dominate the family and become aggressive. And they are the ones who should be quarantined. Pit Bulls were born and bred exclusively for the cruel and violent underground sport of dog fighting. These dogs were born and bred to fight until death but like any other dog breed, if they are trained properly and socialized early on they can become a wonderful family pet. Pit Bulls are NOT the problem. Pit Bull Owners are the problem.

I own 2 pugs, both fixed, licensed and brought to the vet yearly.. Funny you never see reports of pugs biting or attacking anyone... glad this is anonymous because if my address was posted everyone would know that my dogs would hold the door open for them when they came to steal my tv and laptop! bahaha
