Tell me what department and I will schedule it in!
It doesn't matter you have to visit all the city departments anyways. All candidates have done that previously.

You do not pay $10,000 a year as you are full of it!
As an unemployed carpenter who recently was a guest at a state run hotel are you putting more $$ into the system than you're taking out? Or are you just a bottom feeder?

The Telegram reports that JR's is in violation of many permits...Building Commish had no idea of the car shows at JR's....funny...he can catch someone out in the woods building a deck..stop the work and fine them for not having a permit...but he doesn't know there are car shows right downtown? I've never been to these car shows...but I know they are going on...

If the building commissioner was unaware that these events were happening right on main street, he should be fired.

If he did know and is just covering his tracks, he should be fired.

Bottom line....fire his ass.

The people that own JRs would obviously know that they were violating city ordinances and laws. They should be appropriately fined for the infractions, and if these violations justify jail time, throw them in jail.

JRs usually got block party permits when they had the car shows. I know I don't drive around the city when I am not working so I am sure the Building Commish doesn't either.

And if no one complained to him he would have no reason to investigate when he is off duty.

It's a travesty. These people with their shiny old Buicks and Fords and Chevy's, all getting together and laughing and having fun. It's time to put a stop to it. With summer around the corner I'm sure people will be having family cook outs and laughing and happy it makes me want to puke. Someone has to stop all this fun in Fitchburg.

I've witnessed it first hand and it was horrible. When the cars are there the prostitutes, drug dealers and heck even the gang bangers won't go downtown. keep this sorta thing up and soon the city will be respectable YUCK.

If the drug dealers and prostites are not downtown during events then where are they? Are they at a bar?

I say bring Venues back! Equal treatment for all!

I agree, just look what happened to Main St. in Nashua NH. All the outdoor cafes, sidewalk seating and car nights. Decent people enjoying themselves and making the city look great. I wouldn't want them here I would rather have the old clientele from the Charlie Bar days. Lets shut down JR's and hangout at the Rock Bottom on dominos night.

Insider,

If JRs had the proper permits, then I stand corrected...seems odd that the Telegram would print that they were in violation though.

My comments were of course my own opinion on what should happen to them IF it is true.

Laugh all you want but if you keep these sorts of shenanigans up soon businesses will be opening. Before you know it there will be a Kimbals ice cream! Main street Fitchburg should be restricted to chopped down Hondas that blast spanish music. These old cars just get in the way. I can see why people go after anyone who would take the time to organize these events. Sure they spend money on food and gas, drinks etc. but what about the the drug dealers who can't make a dollar during the car show?

Why are you bringing a persons ethnic background into this discussion? I don't understand your logic concerning drug dealers and prostitutes? Are you claiming that drug dealers and prostitutes stay at home during car shows?

Then what does "spanish music" have to do with anything? Is your thinking really this twisted? I really do not get the drug dealer comments?? Please explain your logic, please!

People state that there are drug dealers in the bars. From what I hear, drug dealing goes on in bars and not in the street any longer. The same with prostitution. I am having a tough time deciphering what you are talking about.

Another thing I hate is graduation parties. All of those cars parked in front of one house with people in the back yard sitting outside eating and celebrating and I know they don't have any permits it has to stop.

It is time to change the politics within Fitchburg. I intend on promoting Fitchburg "as the place to set up a business".
We need to work on making Fitchburg a friendlier city to live, work and to visit.
