Again, annual physical fitness testing is already happening in many of our nation's police departments. It is not unfair; it is just good, common sense:
1) Just how in hell is a big fat cop going to successfully participate in a foot chase? In the good ol' days, a cop would actually chase a bad guy on foot. These days, many lawmen figure that they can sit on their duffs in a cruiser and chase the bad guy (who is on foot) from the seat of a squad car. It's nonsense.
2) We all know that a fat, out of shape cop, who's heart becomes tired from pushing blood through all that blubbery mass, can simply go out on a "job related injury". They use the horsesh#t excuse that somehow the stress of the job caused their disability; not the fact that they are packing an extra 125 pounds or so. As near as I can tell; the only stress that McNamarra has had in the last 30 years had to do with hearing that Dippin Donuts had sold out all the honey glazed donuts one day......
Your right kid...except your overlooking one thing. Some forms of hand to hand combat actually can use the overweight condition of a combatant as an advantage..take Sumo wrestling and the west African style " Campo brha" . I'm not saying that it would be practical for guys on the job , just making sure all disciplines are considered.

With all due respect towards you, I sincerely DOUBT that Officer McNamarra is actually trained in any of the fighting methods that you make reference to. I suppose that IF he WAS trained in Sumo as an example; he COULD wear a large blue diaper as a result of his direct ties to law enforcement; versus wearing the white diaper that is standard attire for these warriors.

My hunch is that Big Mac HAS, in fact, used his large mass to an advantage; but it probably has more to do with getting a better position in a food line than it does with hand to hand combat.....

Ok...I get the joke and it is kind of funny but it reminds me of a beat cop in Somerville when I was coming up...the guy was a Hippo and I mean big ....he was not to be messed with. he could back hand a wise guy through a brick wall , even I gave him a little room.

Thug is right, don't forget about the Big "A". Arthur was the toughest cop around and he would pick a criminal up off his feet using just one hand and stare at him in the face.

Yeah, he may not be able to run a mile but just don't let him get a hold of you.

The Big "A" was twice the size of Mac.

It's obvious someone dislikes a certain cop. What about NFL players who are over 300lbs.? Can they do their job?

There are many baseball players that are over weight. Does that mean that Big Papi shouldn't play? It's just stupid to assume that because someone struggles with their weight they can't do their job.

McNamara is, obviously, undefeated in every food fight he has participated in over the years.

Is it possible Ray Kroc saw our boy wipe out a few platters single-handed and named the "Big Mac" after him in tribute and admiration?

Hey, it depends on what your trying to do. A lineman can use the ev tra weight to advantage, a running back? no. I played semi-pro football back in the day..I was a young and lean 190 lbs..and I was a line man! what I lacked in weight I made up for in shear ferocity. Great experience, thanks for taking me back to a happy time.

Something tells me that the ONLY reason you played a team sport was to see the other men in the shower.

Who's been hit on the chin by more balls?

Yogi Berra or Sophisticated Thug?

This takes me back to when I was 18. I was 180 lbs. of pure muscle and started playing semi pro baseball as the starting quarterback. The best 10 years of my life. Then when I turned 20 I couldn't play any more after a freak hopscotch accident. Thanks for bringing me back and keeping it real brother.

I'm not sure but if you were getting bj's from a grown man doesn't that make you gay? Not that there is anything wrong with that.

You nailed it Dude. There are certain kinds of guys that talk that gay crap ...12 year old boys and secret gay men ...Blue light and FLRetiree for instance.
I'm cool,
no gay bashing on my part...my ex wifes brother is gay, and a righteous dude AND tough as nails. Back in the day when we were picking guys for a tough mission one thing that always disqualified a pick was just this kind of psyho-sex disorder. We called it "Maggoting out'" after the guy in the movie " THE GREAT ESCAPE" . You can not have.. and I mean NEVER.. a guy like that on an op....never. Blue light and the FLRetiree are good guys , I know FL.. but they are troubled and they should come out..it may be tough but in there end ..they will be happy.

Hey thug, remember that time you showed me the correct way to perform fellatio? You said it was something you had learned while hanging out at the Y.

You were well skilled at "keeping the change."

Hey you're pretty quick, aren't you dude? What else would you call it when two men do that, genius? And if there's nothing wrong with it then why point it out? Obviously it bothers you. You're a homophobe.

And thug, why don't you tell the group how you used to give handys to the guys in high school?

I think you mean something else when you say you "came up the hard way."

Sorry but I'm not a homophobe. I do believe there are two types of gay people. One that gets all excited when they can get married and the other ones like you who get excited writing about doing gay sex stuff.
