Exactly! Even China will benefit through a war! The poorest citizens will be put on the ground to get killed first. I believe that these powerful, wealthy POS are always playing games and sometimes it is war!

What we need to do is to plan to fight a billion man army! We need more automatic weapons so we can kill more of them faster!

Insider, some businesses will hire more employees, tax breaks for citizens increses their "disposable income"! Both of these actions will create a possible bigger customer base for your business so that you in turn will hire another employee!
You have to understand, Jobs is a must! It is all about "consumer spending", this is what stimulates a healthy economy!
"A bedroom" community? This is a label. Every community has bedrooms! You are attempting to create a label so that you feel more comfortable about the city! On another blog, you will state that Fitchburg is an unemployed cesspool of social services reciepients that live off the system! So there is another label that you choose to utilize!
Live and Let Live!! And do not forget to Vote "Lynch for Mayor" on September 27th!!Spread the word!
Tax breaks are only temporary, as soon as they end there is no insentive to keep the employees hired. Also any hiring due to a tax break is not going to make a dent in the economy, the real number of unemployed is 20 million plus. Fitchburg is a bedroom community, so is Ashby, Lunenburg, Westminster, Townsand, Gardner and most of the surrounding towns, even Leominster could be considered a bedroom community. This is not negative lable as you might think, but you should know that being the highly educated community college graduate that you are. Most Fitchburg residents prefer to live here because of the lack of industry. Fitchburg in not located in an area that would make cost effective for industry to move here. Not everyone wants a Walmart, Home Depot or Target built down the street. Sure its great for people like you who can't drive. This is why Fitchburg needs a highly educated leader, even some of the past mayors that didn't have the degrees that Wong has knew Fitchburg because they have lived here most of there lives and knew what the citizens wanted. If you knew Fitchburg you would know that the area that you "think" would be a great location for an airport is nor really in Fitchbur, most of that land is actually in Westminster and is owned by the state and part of the state forest system.

Looks like employers aren't planning on doing any hiring, even with a $450 million incentive staring them in the face.

Exactly, I am not hiring anyone until my business picks up. Businesses do not go out and hire because of tax breaks. That still means money goes out to pay for another employee and my profit has not changed.

What am I gonna do? Take a chance and hire employees because of tax breaks? Are you crazy. What if my profit does not change and if worse I lose more money?

That doesn't make sense. That would be the same as a casino offering a special deal with a 2 for 1 bet on roulette. Sounds good but what if you still lose?

Sorry but that bill will never pass. We saw what Evergreen did with their tax breaks. This is Pres.Obama's panic mode desperation spheech because he will be ousted by Rick Perry.

As I said above tax breaks are a temporary fix, the housing market did well when home buyers got that tax credit, since it ended the housing market is even worse off. What this country needs is lower corporate taxes, we need to give corporations a reason to move jobs back here. Green jobs will not bring this country back, as you said look at Evergreen and that other company in CA that Obama bragged about that is now in bankrupcy and being investigated. There are 20 plus million people out of work before the economic downturn corporation had no problem finding trained workers now all of a sudden they are whining that they can't find properly trained workers, that is the biggest BS excuse for not hiring. There are plenty of trained workers, many of these companies just need an excuse to move operations overseas. The company that makes the iPhone, iPad and iPod for Apple has over a million employees that get paid about $3.00 a day and recently the CEO said he is going to replace all those workers with robots because he doesn't want to pay workers more money, The company is called Foxconn based in China. I would rather pay $100 more for an iPod and have it made here.

The city would never need 300 cops nor 300 firefighters!!! There are federal grants available and Fitchburg would have to be crazy not to apply for them!! President Obama is askng for a half a trillion dollar American jobs bill which will include many grasnts for infrastructure!!
I called this!! This bill and others will pass because there is no other choice! The next step may be war with China if America cannot get back on it's feet!
Now again, Fitchburg neds to e aead of the curve this time around! The building of a connector will make Fitchburg very competitive! A casino may be an option. I wrote to Dinatale in reference to a pssile casino. We need lawmaker support and investors! We should explore the possibility of moving the airport by exit 28 by coco keys also! This is "thinking out of the box!"
If the airport is able to move then the connector will definitely be feasible and Fitchburg would have a major airport! Then comes the hotels, businesses and many other venues!
Fitchburg already has an airport and it already business owners that choose to use it. We don't have the businesses to demand an airport capable of landing a 737. Your connector project is a waste of money since access into Fitchburg is available from 3 different exits off of Route 2. West Fitchburg already has several industrial complexes and some of the buildings are emapty. If you want to do something meaningful, fill those buildings first. Access to Route 2 is very close to these areas, so access isn't an issue.

Devens is more appealing than Fitchburg, close to several highways, airports and easy commute for employees from the surrounding area. His airport idea wouldn't fly (hahahahahahahahahahahahahahah ahahahahahahahahahaah), anyways, it would face hundreds of lawsuits from local residents, envirmentalists and surrounding towns considering Fitchburg owns very little land in that area, in fact I any land in that is in Fitchburg maybe privately owned. He seems to think that all these idea's will be a smooth transition, buts thats because of lack of education and experience in economics and community development.

Are you kidding? Nothing wakes you up in the morning like a 747 coming in for a landing! Of course the idea is stupid.

Then again I suppose all of the wealthy residents and billionaires who live in the city would utilize the airport with their private jets.

Oh yeah all the business around the airport in both cities would have to relocate because of security restrictions. Airgas will move to another city.

Oh silly me. Come to think of it the connector would make sense. No one would have to relocate we can build a tunnel from Rte.2 thru South Street, thru the city and it can end at the new airport.

Now you're just talking crazy you silly goose. The tunnel should go to gardner because they don't have railway access. When all of those billionaires use the tunnel to access the airport the tolls alone will pay all of the bills for the city. Get with the program.

Not to mention every cop in the city will probably park their airplanes in the no parking zone next to the terminal.

Some of it is lying. Some of it is due to his being crazy.

"DeMoura said Lynch has been making a steady series of claims of being threatened for the four years since he's been with the Fitchburg Police Department, and the threats are not credible.
"There's only so many times you can cry wolf," said DeMoura. He said Lynch's frequent claims of being threatened have become a form of harassment against the police department."
