While many of us have been scratching our heads wondering what Governor Palin's real reason for stepping down is, I for one am not. She plans to run for the Senate in 2010. That's right, it's not the big chair she wants right now,but to 'pass the ball' but keep on playing in the game. The strategy is perfect- her numbers will never be higher, and out of office the endless court battles and legal bills will stop piling up. The media will not be scrutinizing a Governor, they'll be trying to follow a (yawn!)Senate race. On the speaking circut, she can make much more than she did as Governor, and while in the Senate she can gain the valuable policy and legislative experience in Washington that she will need to become President. Most important of all, she will not be 'abandoning the people who elected her' like the DNC response charged Friday afternoon. She has plenty of time to become President, and right now while Trig is still small and in need of great love and attention may not be be best time to seek the highest office. So go for it Sarah, I'll put a Palin for U.S. Senate yard sign on my lawn... and I live in sunny Florida!!
