Don't understand why no one has mentioned the woman, a mother of two, who he left dead in his home last week. Why the big secret? All of these reports just say that he was missing and may harm himself. Even if he didn't do it, she is still dead. It's like she never existed.

Why are we not getting anymore info? Why did the Lawrence police catch him on friday and then let him go? This is a Homicide case and nothing has been done. Why has she not been mentioned? She was a mother of 2 and engaged to this Jerry. Why did he clean the house after her death and stay all night with the dead body?

I think everyone in the neighborhood is wondering the same thing. It is a quiet area. Sheila was a mother of two. Domestic violence is an issue no matter where you are. I think people need to know more about this. Where is he now? He murdered a loved one in a violent manner, and left two children without a mother.

How did you learn that he was let go? I live in the neighborhood as well and posted the first comment because I really don't understand all the secrecy. Surely it wasn't a suicide? I guess what matters most to me is that there has been no mention of Sheila or her children or any information on what we as her neighbors might be able to do to help her family or to memorialize her.

Jerry Blandford is from Owensboro, KY. Grew up here, graduated from high school and his family still lives here. There has not been any mention of this in our news. Please expand on what happened.

Amazing! He goes missing for several days after he “accidently” shot and killed his fiancé. When he is found the police release him? Basically, he shot and killed this lady and spends the night with the corpse before calling the police and then shows up missing. I wonder how much cleaning he was doing from the time he shot her to the time he actually called the police. All of his actions are those of a guilty person… why are the police not doing anything? He must have some very high dollar lawyers.

Scott, you must have some great sources! No details appear to have been released, but you KNOW he SHOT and killed her?, spent the night with her body?, and thus obviously conclude he's guilty. Liz must be connected as well, knowing it's a domestic violence case. You both are either perfect examples of why we have a legal system that assumes innocence until proven otherwise, or you can site a source. I too am interested in this tragic story. My thoughts and prayers go out to Sheila, her children, and her family.

I can only think of the children and her family.. He and his family had to know that he was abusive.

I'm hopefull the community will keep them all in our prayers, without unsubstantiated allegations and blind speculation of cause. I hope I never judge, condemn, or wrongfully accuse anyone unjustly.
"Thou shalt not bear false witness" (Exodus 20:16), wasn't one of the "10 Suggestions".

Still there is nothing in the Owensboro area about "He murdered a loved one in a violent manner, and left two children without a mother." The truth has to be know. This is about two weeks old. How is the Davis family doing?

What does that mean If you have cash. I feel that he should be locked up in jail. The news has to get ahold of this story soon or later. He does have two x-wives. Living in Owensboro.

Could it be that he was questioned and released because no crime was committed? Maybe that's why it's not in the news? Perhaps the police are NOT inept, and there is no conspiracy for a cover-up? Perhaps cause of death is being withheld out of respect for the kids and family? We should be careful jumping to conclusions without knowing the facts, but it appears many would rather speculate and blame than seek the truth.

Homicide or suicide. The investigation is ongoing. Wouldn't it be difficult for a woman to shoot herself in the neck with a shotgun though?
