There was a time when living in Fishers was a pleasure. Now it is pure H*ll. The Town Council approves anything and everything that has to do with pouring concrete. The only reason I can guess are the GREEDY TAX DOLLARS. We are starting to lose all of our wildlife and gaining new wildlife - the kind no one wants around them. This water park is just another example of how Fishers is turning into a developer's dream and a resident's nightmare. It doesn't matter if you show up for the Town meetings. You are one individual and they vote for the greedy tax dollars anyway. I'll be moving as soon as I can. It may not be for a couple of years, but my rear end is out of Fishers and Noblesville will not be where I move because of the same situation.
Have you ever heard of growth and progress? You sound like one of these little rednecks who constantly moan and grown about taxes and development and this and that! Good grief. You are probably one of the same group of people who moan and grown that there is nothing to do! They are trying to make it more lively! Good lord! Town Hall meetings? Perhaps the devlopers know the people and/or voters are ignorant and the only way to progress is by going thru the stupid voters and their ignorance.

If you dont like taxes then move to a 3rd world country becuase you cannot escape taxes. Taxes are everywhere and moving will do you no good. Didnt anyone tell you that the only thing we can guarantee in this life is taxes and death?

You live near a large city and if you want wildlife, then go live in the middle of the mountains a loooonng way away!

I don't have a problem with them putting in water park there and I live within a mile of the site BUT - all of us that live around here KNOW that they will construct these new projects but leave the roads as they are - small and problematic.

Go east on 141st around 5pm. You're back up all the way to 37 from the Cumberland 4 way (let's not get into the fact that some people have their full stupid on when they are at a 4 way). and those new condos have yet to sell.

They drool over the money these developments bring in for tax revenue but are tight-fisted with that money to build up the area's roads.

The construction going on right now is just wonderful not to mention all of the traffic I have to fight in Fishers. I can only imagine what it will be like after this thing opens.

I live in what used to be a beautiful apartment complex (Woods of Britton) with squirrels, raccoons, etc. chasing on my patio. Now I cannot see them for the dust; I can see the bulldozers going right now though. It is 7:30 p.m. So much for sitting out on my patio. I would probably have an allergy attack. The dust is so thick I feel as if I am in a dust storm. Stop at a decent hour, please!!!!

Town of Fishers is run by a bunch a amateurs - they don't know squat about city planning. Won't let a church be built that is 2 stories, but will put in a 7 story hotel that will attract all sorts of rif-raf? If you think crime won't follow, just wait.

Explain to me how building a hotel increases crime again, I must have missed that in all the evidence you presented...
also explain how building Churches decreases crime...
I'm wondering what the crime-to-church ratio is on the near east side...

The waterpark hotel I assume you're speaking of does offer day passes to individuals not staying on property.
Fishers Jon wrote:

It's good to hear that the water park will be open to the public instead of just guest purchasing their room & pool packages.

Anyone know when they'll break ground on this property? Ground breaking has been in the works for the past 2 years now.

I went to Thunder Island as a newly-graduated high school student. My boyfriend at the time (now husband) went there often as a kid. It was great fun! You must check out the spooky pics Jared Morris spoke of; looks cool!
