Okay - any native Long Islander knows these are affluent communities. How about featuring photos of homes in not so affluent communities which are well maintained - probably by the OWNER and not a profeesional landscaping company.

fyi, joanna, the roydon drive homes are within view of jerusalem avenue, a main thoroughfare (in fact, one of the ones shown was the home of a junior-high-school friend). North Merrick has many areas that are much more affluent that roydon drive. what these middle-class residents do is take great pride in their homes and treat them like castles. now the roslyn homes - there you've got a point!

I think they forgot to mention one more detail making for that "prettiest" block....No blacks or hispanics. Why is it that blacks and hispanics don't take the same pride in their neighborhoods, making prices plummet? No one to blame but themselves!

Too bad you get hammered by HIGHEST taxes in the land for lowest services. Overpaid cops, teachers and civil servants. LEAVE LI before it is too late!!!

If Coram didnt have all of the child molestors living there, they would have some great streets. A lot of the residents are land scapers and lawn mowers.

Brightwaters has some pretty areas. At least they did 30 years ago when I was in school. Perhaps, like the rest of Long Island, they have cut down all the trees (too difficult to rake leaves in the fall) and vinyl-sided the older Victorians, like they did in Sayville.

Agreed. Vinyl siding has to be the ugliest, tackiest, cheapest, and most distasteful home invention ever created.
