Original Fire Island Lighthouse lens is back

Take a walk to the Lighthouse from Field 5 at Robert Moses. It's reaaly neat Then take a walk into Kismet. You will be pleasantly surprised.

I wouldn't think it wise to put the lens in harms way. Fire Island is subject to winter and summer storms. Why not keep it in Patchogue? Just to insure the lens on Fire Island must cost major $.

I believe most of the money was donated privately. Give your own money to impoverished children.

The money to fund the preservation of the lighthouse has, for years, been from private donors...relax. Go back to watching television, or go to the mall or something.

Well said and so true. That is exactly what I was getting at with my above response. Move to New Jersey if you want that BS life-style.

a friend of mine is a teacher on LI and for christmas her club that she runs with her students decided to help poor people on LI. They were going to help them with food and necessities for their homes. the recipients requested things. things like a "red" kitchen aid standing mixer, a "red" toaster, le cruset pots, all clad pots, i could go on and on. sometimes it's not as simple as just throwing money at the issue. boy, i got off point didn't I?
