The 7-11 on Heyward St. was torn down about 2 weeks ago. They finally cleared the lot next to it and are building a row of stores!!

Brings back memories. Donald D- I know all your classmates you mentioned as I was thee too! I had Ms. Sustrain in K, Mrs. Warbington in 1, Ms. Bennazi in 2nd and Ms. Helstrowski in 3rs (she later became Mrs Roth a couple of years later) followed by Mr. Vercillo, Mr. Schiff and finally Mr. Harris.
Mrs. Warbington was the most memorable of all. She was a big, wonderful loving teacher. She wore there pointy glasses on a chain that hung around her neck and always had a smile. At the end of every school day when the bell rang she stood by the front door of the classroom and would kiss each one of us goodbye! She loved every one of us. I remember an morning in April when I was in second grade I came to visit her class to say hello. She sat quietly sobbing alone at her desk. It was the morning that Martin Luther King was shot I later learned. If love had the power of giving someones soul back to earth, she would be born over and over and over again.

Hi, I grew up in Brentwood in the 70's also. I lived with my family on Noble Street. Yes, Brentwood has changed, but I am glad I grew up there. I remember Jeannie Long, John Stapelton, Wayne Carvello, Thomas Percillo. Not sure if the names are spelt correctly. I have great memories.
