If you think this is bad, wait till you see what it's like after the gambling gets here. Ohio is already known for a lot of bad things: extensive ignorance, rabid fundamentalism, football, attempts to put Creationism in its science curriculum, high foreclosure rates, high unemployment, unregulated dog breeding, and rapacious and thieving Republican government. Wait till they add gambling....

can we ignore the nut poster, this is not about casinos.when are we going to find a way to protect kids from themselves.i have few doubts that she may have fudged her age when talking to him.he needs to go to prison and i am sure he will, but how many of these have to happen before we start teaching kids about the dangers of meeting a strnger thay know only from the net?

What if, WHAT IF what he says is true, that he thought she was 19? Girls have been known to lie about their ages on the internet before!

You know, while he is definitely wrong, if she led him to believe that she was 19, and if he would not have come to Ohio if he had known her true age, maybe SHE should be charged? And just maybe, Daddy Dearest ought ot pay just a bit of attention to what his kid(s) are doing on the internet? I mean let's face it, people can mis-represent themselves a million different ways on the net. And if a parent has NO idea whatsoever that this type of stuff is happening - maybe they ought to implement some parental controls on their web access for the child? Or is dear daddy accessing sites that wouldn't clear the parental control filters? Please don't bash me for sticking up for the guy - I am not if he came up here and had even consensual sex with a 15-year old. But had she not gone along on the web, he would not have been in Ohio in the 1st place. Two sides to everything.......

I agree a lot of ppl lie about their age in the net world. I just wonder how the dad found out about this after the fact. Would seem to me that had some adult in her household were monitoring her computer use, this might have been avoided. I know I will be attacked with things like kids sneak around and do things, but there are parental controls on computers just the same as there are on TV's. Not to mention there are cheap tracking progams for computer use. Lets one see every key board stroke used by all using the computer. Just a thought,

did anyone notice that he was 19? he's still really a kid himself he had only met her online and had only her word that she was 19...perhaps parents should have more closely monitored her internet activity. I have a 15-year-old daughter and we keep track of where she goes, how long she's been on and have snooping software

Yeah, we will have drugs, prostitution, daily murders, daily armed robberies and kidnapping, firefighters killing their dogs....oh wait, we already have that without the "evil" gambling! Have a nice day

Not defending anyone who has sex with a minor, but he was led to beleive that she was 19 and I have seen many girls under 18 who look MUCH older and make themselves that way to appeal to MEN. Now he will have to face prison time and a life of being registered as a sex offender, if convicted. he was only 23, she "19". 4 years difference, nothing to raise any eyebrows if all was above table.

Wait till they add gambling.... People like you really amuse me! You are dead set against this gambling because it will bring more crime...what do you think the crime rate will do as the unemployment rate continues to rise?? You bash every idea to grow the economy citing reasons like crime and higher taxes but you have no ideas on anything else so I guess we just sit back and continue to watch people lose their jobs and get their homes foreclosed on. I know this is off topic but this post really annoys me
