I would like to hear personal experiences of how Freed Hardeman has affected your business. If you have been threatened or contacted or your business has been compromised by FHU i want to hear about it. We are going to get to the bottom of who it is that is allowing FHU to make our local government decisions. I want to know who, when, where, and why. I will be making lists of all city and county officials and doing research on who is doing the secret negotiations with FHU. So watch out, we are going to fix this one way or another.

One FHU employee on county board, another on city board and they are brothers. Go figure.

Good information...but names and details please! No-one is going to be able to fix this if everyone is keeping quiet. We have freedom of speech here and revealing specific names which deserve review and investigation is what i'm looking for. I will remind you that I'm not planning on starting drama here; but to find the truth! Please help me...

Thanks, I will be starting my investigation with these two since they have the most ties to FHU...

Well, thanks for clearing that one up. What planet have you been living on anyway? Before this gets out of hand, might I remind everyone that if a very large percentage of our city residents are members of a certain denomination, doesn't it make sense that percentage would also be applied to city employees, city leaders, your next door neighbor. It's like saying have you noticed how many Baptists are on the board of aldermen and are some of them related. EVERYONE has family in Chester County......Keith and Barry are fine people. This is just stupid. OVER AND OUT. And I am not COC.

I'm quite sure all these men and women are fine people and they deserve credit for many things...but how can a man that is highly respected in the COC and in control of FHU make decisions from the heart...He is forced to base his decisions on whats best for FHU first, and no way can he vote without thinking of what all the COC folks expect him to do. Everyone is different, and that's what makes the world go round, but not all decisions being made by town officials need to be so heavily influenced by FHU. It is apparent from past decisions not to bring big business in this town and support a healthy business growth but somehow regulate ourself to only what FHU will allow. There are fewer business's here today than 30 years ago. Fewer jobs, and less of a good sense of family values because someone wont step out of the box and run this town for the people who live here, and not for benefit of FHU.
So please understand this is all about FHU and why it seems to have a 90% vote when at most it should only have about 30% if there are only 2-3 members representing. This math doesn't make sense and i would just love a good explanation!

Neither Mayor has any connection with FHU. I read in the Jackson Sun were Mayor King is voting for liquor stores. I sure that is not going to put him on FHU Christmas card list.

Yes this may be true; and they are well qualified for the job but what we didn't understand is once Barry became controller of FHU his job requires him to be loyal to 1st: FHU, 2nd:COC church, and 3rd the town people. I'm sure this is too many different groups to be responsible for and there is no way he can please all these groups fairly and besides i dont want the town to be his 3rd priority when making business decisions.
Think about it...when we have a jury trial, we go to great lengths to make sure the jury is made of unbiased folks who will make a decision that will be fair to the accused person. Do we want criminals to have 100% fair trial but let a major business decision be decided by biased town government. No, of course not, so just think again about how you are looking at this situation
I am not saying these are not good people, just not exactly who we want making decisions that will affect everyone. I just think Barry will always be looking out for the future of FHU and not the future of our town...

Well i can tell you they are buying up every piece of property in town. They don't pay any taxes on any of it and that adds up to alot of property tax the county is missing out on.

Not taking up for FHU, I pay taxes her as others do. This goes on evrywhere they have a college. I don't like it either but this is out of the local bodies of government control. All universities are like this. Don't take my word for it, check it out with state officials. I did.

Ok, who on the City or County Board, votes for FHU?

I know for a fact, that, Keith Smith has turned FHU down on more than one occasion. Barry, well, that's another story.
If you attend some of these meetings as I do, you will hear it straight from the board members.

The State of Tennessee has some laws that nothing caan be done about FHU paying taxes etc.

Visit hendersontn.org for the website.

I think Dr. Dewayane Wilson is in charge for getting things passed for FHU. No, he don't live in Chester County.

Beleive me, FHU is not happy with the City.

the only thing that can be done is don't sell the property. This has nothing to do with the city or county. It's up to the property owner and fhu.
