The Connection between Illegal Immigration and Organized Crime

Full story: www.familysecuritymatters.org

Promotion of open immigration will certainly accelerate the serious economic and social problems we are experiencing in this country. While most immigrants arrive here with a strong work ethic, there are large numbers of those who are career criminals, or who have received previous training in guerrilla fighting tactics, money-laundering techniques, unbounded criminal conspiracies and murder, as well as operating clandestine drug laboratories, prostitution rings, theft rings, drug distribution networks, etc. Continuing to allow them to have unfettered opportunity to enter the United States would pose continued, unacceptable threat to our security.

But, but, but, I thought the pro-illegal people have said the illegals are just here to pick our lettuce and are otherwise such wonderful, law-abiding people?

It does appear there is some corruption on this issue because the consequences of amnesty for illegal immigration are so clearly disasterious for the poor of this country and for the precedence it will create for all nations to send their poor populations to feed on this countries social system it could be destruction from within. How can parents teach their children you have to obey the laws but illegals don't. It seems some one is making it very lucrative for legislators to look the other way and not do what is right for the poorest most vulnerable citizens in this counrty and start enforcing laws and plugging loop holes i.e. illegals can only be held by Federal agents not locals or the give them drivers licenses so we can drive down truckers wages and put them in poverty.
How would lawmakers feel if illegals were competing for their jobs and doing them for half the price. If we need more people do it through legal immigration. We pay a hugh department to do it. Force Mexico to start educating there people so they can immigrate legally like India did. If oil prices and profit can be justified so can higher food prices that pay liveable wages, to maintain our integrity or we can slip into the third world mentality of workers without rights every one for himself. Just like the war in Iraq we can not afford to allow amnesty for 12 million plus their 50 million children. Just like drugs Washington sits around in their self aggrandizing world and lets the problem get so huge it can't be contained like a bunch of addicts.

I am rather unclear about the point you make. But I loved your comment: "How would lawmakers feel if illegals were competing for their jobs and doing them for half the price." That is the best idea I have heard yet! I would think it would be an improvement.

Would we really be willing to pay more for food and other products if it meant paying a living wage? Look how upset we got over $4.00 a gallon gasoline! As long as these people can be exploited for profit it will continue. We forget how much it costs in other ways, such as if the poor laborer can get past the border then plenty of not so fine folks can also get through. We have increased crime and identity theft. We get other criminal elements sneaking in. But as long as these companies can get their cheap expendable laborers the enforcement will turn a blind eye to the other problems involved.

I'm Mexican myself, and Mexicans are NOT criminals.

However, illegal immigrants usually are.

Whether it be drug-dealing, prostitution, gangs, streetfighting, or just gaming the system... all you white people who are arguing "please help save the poor illegal immigrants" had better watch what you wish for.

There's a reason Mexico is basically a third-world country. As the impoverished US will be if something's not done to stem the tide of illegal immigration.

Indeed something has to be done to stem the tide of illegal immigration from all parts of the world. We need to secure all ports of entry, period.
But Mexico is a third world country not because it's people won't work, it is because it is controlled by those that want to keep all the wealth for themselves.
As to those that are criminals they have no right to be in this Country and should be deported.
Those that have done no harm here and only worked providing for themselves and families they in mho should be allowed to stay.
But only when no more mass illegal immigration is viable.

'In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people.'

I agree with what you say, except for "Those that have done no harm here and only worked providing for themselves and families they in mho should be allowed to stay."

They have done harm here in many ways (posted many times in this forum). We've been there, done that with Regan's amnesty. What did it get us? MORE illegals coming here in hopes of more amnesty. Illegals marching in the streets demanding amnesty and citizenship. They have no right to US Citizenship as they came here illegally and are indeed LEGAL citizens of another country. To come here and dig in their heels while hiding from authorities does not qualify them to become citizens. This would be a severe slap in the face to those who have waited to do it legally. We as a country have every right to SELECT who is allowed to immigrate and I don't think that we need to select, via amnesty, those who are uneducated and unwilling to stand up to effect change in their own countries, or just want a better pie to grab a piece from.

We also have no way to prove whether they actually did nothing wrong other than coming here illegally. We're finding more and more are VOTING, more and more using socials that are not theirs (felony), driving without a license and/or insurance, having babies for the express purpose of getting government benefits, and so many more things that we just don't know about. We certainly can't ask them and expect them to be honest -- for God's sake, we already know they're not honest! And then there's the fact that by rewarding them for their crime, WE are helping them teach their children that crime *does* in fact pay! Too many unanswered questions...

I agree. Everything about them coming here and staying here is about dishonesty, whetehr it's sneaking under a fence, or over staying a visa. Who should we allow to immigrate and become citizens, those who do it the legal and honest way, or those who choose to come and stay here in a dishonest way? It's an easy choice for me and I believe the vast majority of US Citizens.

I fully agree with you. And sadly, the illegals are giving a bad image of the whole. That is the saddest part. And we have to remember, not all illegals are Mexicans and not all Mexicans are illegals.

All illegal immigration needs to be fought equally. It is just that according to reports that the majorit of them are from south of the border. But we have a large contigency of illegals from Asia - they are just further under the radar. We have had a couple raids on "massage" parlors that were also fronts for brothels locally. All were Asian and most employed were illegal. But this does not mean all Asians are prostitutes.

Sadly, the image of the whole is based on the actions of the few.

I would have more sympathy though if they were trying to overthrow and change their own governments instead of coming here. I will help others but they also need to follow the laws and be trying to help themselves. I was taught to do what I can for myself and asking for help is hard. But I hate it when people ask for handouts and expect things of me or my government when they are not trying to fix their own lives.

We have to close the borders, deport illegals from ALL countries and then reform immigration standards before reopening to immigration.

My Mexican friends in New Mexico do not want the illegals in thier towns. They want to fight and kill each other and the citizens. Take over the Mexican communities, slum out the nieghborhoods and drive the standard of living down. Thier families have been there 100 to 150 years, they feel no allegiance to an illegal Mexican.

Carthage Missouri is the new Mexico there are so many here.
You can't get housing at a reasonable price.
Why because 4 or 5 families move into 1 house and are willing to pay the outragious amount that slum lords and landlords both are asking.
Its because of them housing has raised and more than half can't speak or refuse to speak english.
No one knows how many are illegal aliens.
Why because no cares here almight dollars buys everything here.
