Minor flooding, baseball-sized hail near Avilla, Missouri.

“We had reports of baseball-sized hail in the Avilla area,” said Keith Stammer, emergency management coordinator for Joplin and Jasper County. Back windows were broken out of several vehicles when hail fell south of Avilla just after 8 a.m., according to a spokesman for the Avilla Volunteer Fire District.

That's amazing! I always thought baseball size hail was a tall tale. You know like the old timers walking 20 miles to school, in the snow, uphill both ways.

I'm surprised there were no injuries. I guess Avillans really do know enough to come in from the rain.:)
