What is up in Ferris... I thought that this was a small nice town... I see the police pulling people over all the time for bullshit.. But they don't realize that people are being murder in their own backyard... I thought that the reason for having a police department that is located in the center of town is to help serve and protect. They notice all the minor details, but don't notice people being shot to death... Great Job Ferris PD... Keep up the good work....

Just because its a small town and the PD is in the middle doesn't mean they should see every single thing that happens. Things like this happen all the time all over America.

does anyone find it strange that it was almost a year ago when another couple was murdered in ferris? no forced entry and around the same time of the day.

This town has been plagued with problems since the termination of Chief Cottongame. I onced worked in this town under him. He had one officer assigned to the highway to generate revenue during the daytime. This was so the department could have nice equipment and to assist the city budget as well. He always insisted that the town be worked during the night to insure the safety of it's citizens. The town was really a safe place to live then and the morale in the department high. How many police chiefs have there been since him? I still have a po box there and wont go get my mail after dark. This town is a dump.

Its understood that killing happen every where and this isn't the first killing in Ferris, but just lees than a year ago a another couple was found dead not to far from the PD department and reports were called about a shooting the night the two young couple was killed. So did the police come to the area and check it out. NO.... I don't think that I am being to hard on the part when I said they are not doing enough... Like I said before.... Keep up the Good Job Ferris PD..

You people don't know what you are talking about. I have lived in Ferris for 20 years and I have never had any problem. What is wrong with the other towns that have the same problem. I stay up at night and leave my front door open and never had a problem. It was a drug deal that had gone bad. You people need to study more and quit being ignorant.

Soooo... Your old.... Ok... That make us feel like you really know what you are talking about... I don't really agree with the hold thing with saying the town was safer with cottongang... He was a drug dealer, but he was just a cop.... Come on now the corruption in the police dept. was crazy.. I just think that our town need to really step up a little more b/c we are about to be on the same level as Oak Cliff or even worst West Dallas... I think that we as community should step and realize that our community will not be safe unless we make a statement to our local PD dept about the concern of the town. And lady you need to really started locking your door. B/c people regardless if it was a drug thing or not have crazy ways and they could have broke into your house by accident or even worst thing could happen.. I hope everyone understand that our community is becoming a community to were our children are not going to be able to even walk home from school after while. Instead of thinking people are being stupid about a real issue try to figure out why drugs are being place in our community. Please everyone to write to the Ferris PD dept about your feeling on protecting and serving our community... We don't need to have speed traps on the highway's or chase the little thugs on MeadowRidge... We need them stop killing in our community.. Two set of couples move in and then they end up dead...

My sympathy and prayers go out to the town of Ellis and the families of the 2 victims. I personally knew Nathan Moses and he was a good guy at his core. We all have our demons and no one is perfect. Whether this was a drug deal, a crime of passion or completely random- NO ONE deserves to have their life taken. This should also let you know that NO ONE is exempt to the sins of our world. I live in Houston and I see at least 5 similar stories a night, but small town America is not immune to this. My grandmother was murdered in her home in Caldwell,TX which is also very small town. What was the reason there??? How do you justify a 74 year old being murdered??? Please do not be so quick to judge a situation or make accusations as if it somehow justifies the act. Utopia does not exist so I hope everyone exercises common sense no matter where you live. We need to value the lives of others as we do our own lives. To all be safe and be blessed. R.I.P Nathan

Both victims had a history of drug related problems. Moses mother was interviewed and said she begged for him to go to rehab. More than likely, it was druf reltaed, but such a sad way to go for people so young.

Both victims had a history of drub abuse, sad but true. It was probably drug related but still sad to see two young people go at such a young age.

Again, please don't make assumptions about what happened. No one knows but the deceased, the person or people who did it, and God. It's always easy to assume the worst about a victim so we can "make sense" of it. Bad things just don't happen to good people, right? WRONG!!! I don't think anyone on this post is a detective with Ferris Police Dept so please keep your amateur deductions to yourself. Everyone has vices and no one is perfect. Sometimes senseless acts are just that, Senseless!

To Angel, if you are still able to read this:

God bless you and your family sweetheart. I went to high school with Nathan and he was a good guy. I talked to him a few months ago and I know he was very proud of his family. I don't know details of drug use or anything else but I know he was a good person. I have memories of his silliness and his smile and I hope you do as well.

I'm a friend of the family and know a good portion. For all of those that say don't make assumptions you sure do make assumptions about me. Pandora, really why are you so filled with judgment and hate. Both victims were amazing people at heart and no one here is judging their life choices. It was also clearly spelled out on the news made visible to everyone. So ease up on the harsh words, Pandora. Really??
