People wanting change need to supply valid and legit plans for that change. Those quoting the City needs "vision" need to know what that vision should be and how one should go about achieving such actions, not complain about the lack of power they have. Be clear and have a plan. Unfortunately, even with new blood in local Boards and Commissions, without community support efforts will go nowhere quick. In my humble opinion, some legal research needs to be done regarding the recent actions of the Fernley swimming pool board. The lack of participation by the majority of Fernley residents will eventually harm this great city. Only when residents tax rates skyrocket from lawsuits, elaborate capital projects, and excessive debt will they be concerned. Bottom line is conduct some research, get informed and vote!

I would hope that new faces in the city would change many things. The pool issue like fernleyres575 stated is a big one. Who closes a pool too close to summer where the residents pay for the pool out of property taxes then have to also pay to get in and then can't even use the thing? And...where did the slide for the little kids go? Do those people think little kids don't like to use a slide or don't go to the pool? I for one wish I didn't have to pay for such a useless pool. On to the city....there is way too much money being spent unnecessarily. There were no grants applied for to build the water treatment plant. WASTEFUL! I have a water system at my house because the city took too long in building the stupid thing...that still isn't done so I don't even need the plant and yet I am having to pay for it in my water bill!!!! No wonder so many people are moving out of Fernley. It's getting to where no one can afford to live here anymore. And....no incentives to live here since Reno and Sparks housing is just as cheap!
