A Dauphin County man has pleaded guilty to charges in connection to the shooting death of a turkey hunter in West Virginia...

Robert Tobias of Millersburg faces more than six years in prison.

Sentencing is sheduled for November fifth.

Tobias says while in West Virginia back in April, he shot at a turkey but missed, and hit the victim instead.

When he realized what happened, he says he panicked, and went back to his hotel room without notifying police."

But is that the whole story?? No!

Well, I think you left some things out of your story. He didn't say he shot at a turkey and missed. He said he seen red then it disappeared into the ravine and then he seen movement and shot. He then went hunting again the next day right here in Lewis County. Some nerve if you ask me. And I know because I was present in the court room. If you are going to report the story don't leave important things out. Especially the part where the coward left and went home like he did nothing."

I really wish this 'hunters breaking the law, endangering lives, killing people and their beloved pets' was harder to find!

But I suppose more importantly than these cowardly hunters, killing wildlife illegally, is that they were endangering human lives by shooting "75 feet from homes."

That is terrifying. We aren't even safe in our own homes from these creeps.

"A pair of Dauphin County men pleaded guilty this afternoon to killing four whitetail deer out of season and shooting wildlife in a safety zone in 2007.

Thomas John Toby, 29, of the 3000 block of Fishing Creek Valley Road, Harrisburg, and Bradley Darrell Goddard, 28, of the 300 block of Dry Run Road, Grantville, each agreed to pay $1,600 in fines following a plea agreement between their lawyer and the commonwealth. They will also have their hunting licenses suspended for a period of time to be determined by a game commission board, Dauphin County Wildlife Conservation Officer Michael J. Doherty said.

Authorities said the men shot the deer in September and October 2007 between 9:30 and 10:30 p.m. and used a spotlight, an activity known as jacklighting. At times, shots were fired 75 feet from homes, authorities said."

"SWAN LAKE (WABC)-- State police say a 16-month old girl died after a hunter's stray bullets traveled 400 feet into her mobile home in Swan Lake.

According to authorities, the bullets were fired by 45-year-old Edward Taibi, of the Howard Beach section of Queens, as he hunted Sunday afternoon in Sullivan county.

Taibi first shot a deer, wounding it. Police say he then fired a second time, about 400 feet away from the girl's mobile home.

The bullet went into the home and struck the girl in the upper torso."

charges after he allegedly shot a hunting arrow into the heart of an
8-year-old relative.

Valentino James Pugnea, 45, was charged in the Dec. 14 incident in which the
boy was impaled but recovered after surgery.

According to the Pima County Sheriff's Department, two arrows were shot and
Pugnea told one deputy the boy shot the first arrow. But Pugnea told another
deputy that he shot both arrows.

Pugnea insisted to deputies he was standing in his garage, shooting at a
cactus, and was not aware the boy was behind the cactus, looking for another
arrow.

He told deputies he was an experienced bow and rifle hunter and had taken
hunter safety courses.

The boy told deputies Pugnea had been teaching him to use the bow and arrow
and fired one arrow into some trees.

The boy said he told Pugnea he was going to fetch the arrow, though Pugnea
and another boy told deputies they thought the injured boy had gone into the
house.

The two friends describe the experience as traumatic, but in retrospect, they know it could’ve been different.
“When I talked to my mom, the first thing she said was,‘Maybe the dog saved your life,’” Schroepfler said.“This is hands-down the most traumatic thing I’ve ever been through. A gunshot wound I’ve seen hunting, but this is a totally different thing.”
Perron said he will pursue charges against the hunter, and maybe more, to try and raise awareness on the trail by posting signs. Cordingly said no summons has been written yet, and police are still trying to locate the hunter, who will be charged with criminal mischief and prohibited use of a weapon.
“It would be cool to remember Crowley and have him do well to the area in this situation,” Schoepfler said. He was an incredible dog.”
He was more than incredible to Perron, who said he’ll cremate Crowley and spread his ashes in Edwards Dog Park.
“He was the best dog ever,” he said.“He was a once in a lifetime dog. He’s an eternal friend.”
