Finally, here's some duck hunting news that has nothing to do with lawbreakers:
A hunter named Joseph Anderson recently killed a mandarin duck at a place called Camden Bottoms in West Tennessee.
Mandarin ducks are one of the most beautiful species of waterfowl on the planet, and they're extremely rare in the United States. They're actually native to China.
It was a once-in-a-lifetime kill, and it was fitted with a band. That's a gold mine for a duck hunter.
I'll have a full story about the bird on Sunday's outdoors page.

Mandarin ducks are NOT rare dear. Not even close. Hell I can order Mandarin ducklings or eggs from damn near everyone of my poultry suppliers.

Mandarin ducks are NOT killed for their "trophy" status either dear. They are NOT even considered a "trophy". They are killed for their MEAT. They are grown commercially in many areas of the world, including right here in the USA.
In China they force feed them for their famous Mandarin duck dinners.

You really need to bone up on your reading comprehension skills dear.

What is disturbing and sad is that this women is a paid PETA spokeswoman.

It sounds like “Alpha Dog” starlet and PETA spokeswoman Dominique Swain needs a refresher course on how to treat animals.

Pop Tarts spies spotted the 29-year-old actress at an animal shelter in Malibu over the weekend, accompanied by her father and a box of eight-week-old, half cocker spaniel puppies that her dog had.

“She was really strung out and just wanted to dump the puppies there, they had never even been to a vet,” an eyewitness tells Tarts.“She was told that it was crucial that they had their shots at four and eight weeks, and they had to be kept away from the other shelter dogs.”

SLIDESHOW: Click here to see photos of Dominique Swain.

According to the witness, the shelter volunteers asked if Swain could make a donation so the required vaccinations could be performed, otherwise the volunteers at the non profit shelter would have to pay for them.

“She said she had no money, despite [driving in] in her BMW,” the eyewitness said.“She was really rude. Eventually she said she would make a small donation, but just left the pups there and drove off.”

It sounds like Swain may have forgotten the words she uttered in PETA’s “I’d Rather Go Naked Then Wear Fur” campaign under the slogan “Kindness is a Class Act.”

"Cruelty to animals is wrong," Swain said. "If all I have to do is stand in front of a blackboard naked to make people think about the cruelty that animals go through to make a fur coat, I'm perfectly willing. I'm baring my skin to save animals' skins!”

A rep for Swain did not respond for comment.

You're really good at making accusations.
Almost all hunters I know strive for one shot one kill.
If they can't make that shot, they don't take it.

There will always be exceptions.
You continue to point those out in attempts to make them
seem the norm....so that all hunting will be shut down.

Is that the next step with pets because some pet owners are abusive? No more pet owners?

That's the logic..is it the objective?

According to PETA it is.

According to hate mongers like Mamasita/cayenne we are vile lazy people who are to lazy to get out of our own way but for some reason while hunting we ignore the perfect shot because we like to chase wounded animals around the woods. She is a moronic bigot & hate monger.

Another Peta hypocrite.
It would seem that PETA just needs a naked body for a photo and Hollywood is full of actresses starving for "any" kind of attention. I guess in their eyes, as long as it brings in donations it's O.K.
Credibility be damned.

Midland County prosecutor charges woman who shot a fellow hunter
By Paul Rau
February 02, 2009, 5:32PM

MIDLAND -- Prosecutor Michael D. Carpenter has authorized charges against a hunter who fired the shot that struck and killed a fellow hunter during deer season.

Lea Ann Dunn faces one count of careless discharge of a firearm causing injury or death in the Nov. 16 shooting in Warren Township.

Sheriff Jerry Nielsen has said the 26-year-old Coleman woman accidentally shot Corey A. Welch, 33, of Indianapolis, Ind..

The father of two died two days later at Hurley Medical Center in Flint.

"(Welch) was sitting in his blind when the bullet struck him in the back," Nielsen said.

Dunn was hunting from a blind east of Welch when she spotted a deer and shot at it, the sheriff said.

"Seconds later, she heard yelling, located the victim and rendered aid," he said.

Dunn is to face arraignment in Midland County District Court this week, authorities said. The charge is a misdemeanor that carries a maximum two-year sentence and a $2,000 fine.

I just want to know how someone can view this as nuts, clueless, and spam.

If this story isn't true...it is deceitful and I oppose that no matter which side of the aisle its coming from.

If it is true then...what do we get from the ARA judge at large?... "insightful, on topic, and an appropriate discussion point?" I doubt it.

This do as I say and not as I do is, if nothing, consistent PETA behavior.

oh Spamasita, now you're just being silly. It's really clear from the hard data that the people who care the least about animals are the ones that are snuffing them out at an alarming rate: Peta!

yowza! I know we are hitting home based on your spam attacks. Some of this is sinking in... It won't be long before you stop supporting them.

Deer hunter from Hartshorne shot, killed in Latimer County in Oklahoma

Published: October 26, 2009

GOWEN (AP)— A deer hunter has been shot and killed in the Gowen Mountain area in southeast Oklahoma.

Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman Jessica Brown says 44-year-old John A. Morgan of Hartshorne was shot and killed about 6 p.m. Saturday while deer hunting in Latimer County.

Latimer County Sheriff Israel Beauchamp identified the shooter as Jack Zearley of the Hartshorne area.

Beauchamp said Monday that no arrests have been made and while investigators are still looking into the case he says he expects the shooting to be ruled an accident. He says the two men were friends and were hunting together when Morgan was shot in the throat by a high powered rifle.

Mamapeta would like to spread the lies that hunting is such a dangerous sport, while the "National Safety Council" states otherwise.
