Make no mistake, all hunters condone and support trophy hunting. All hunters are trophy hunters. It's all about the fun and bragging rights.
Mamasita, you blow hot gas almost as good as Lumpy. Hunting is a primal instinct but cheating is a character flaw. The vast majority of hunters don't have that flaw and you know it. Why would you care if someone is a trophy hunter? That would suggest they kill far fewer animals.

That would require individual thought. PETA employees seem to be warned against such actions. For mammasita, I'm not sure it's even possible.

This is horribly sad to me. It's unbelievable these hunters actually get off killing animals purely for sport, trophies and bragging rights!

Kermode Bear Killed

by Ron on June 30, 2008

A white colored black bear near Skagway, Alaska. These white colored bears are also known as Kermode, Spirit or Ghost Bears.

Certainly one of my highlights last summer was spotting and photographing this rare bear. You may have remembered me writing about it here: Spirit Bear. The local residents were so excited to have such a rare bear around, that they lobbied and convinced the State Board of Game to pass a law protecting the taking of a white black bear.

Last Saturday, the Anchorage Daily News reported that someone named Thor Henricksen allegedly killed this popular bear on June 9 during the spring black bear hunting season. Black bears are extremely prevalent in Alaska, there probably hundreds in just the Skagway area alone – why someone would kill this particular bear is absolutely beyond me!

To add insult to injury, the paper also reported that “state biologist determined that the bear that was shot was not fully white and therefore not protected under the regulation” Clearly the intent of the regulation was to protect this bear – sounds like Thor may be friends with some state biologists! Not surprisingly, the state has refused to allow the hide to be viewed by reporters from Juneau Empire.

It would be interesting to read the local Skagway paper – this bear was pretty much the main story in town when I was there last year, I bet it is again for an entirely different reason.

Observe not one hunter speaks out against the taking of the rarest of animals. They all support it.

Mandarin duck killed in West Tennessee
By Bryan Brasher on December 24, 2008 8:26 PM Share: submit to reddit Share on Facebook StumbleUpon Toolbar

Finally, here's some duck hunting news that has nothing to do with lawbreakers:

A hunter named Joseph Anderson recently killed a mandarin duck at a place called Camden Bottoms in West Tennessee.

Mandarin ducks are one of the most beautiful species of waterfowl on the planet, and they're extremely rare in the United States. They're actually native to China.

It was a once-in-a-lifetime kill, and it was fitted with a band. That's a gold mine for a duck hunter.

I'll have a full story about the bird on Sunday's outdoors page.

Yeah, and the remaining 1% are those criminals that move plants across the border without obtaining permission, or allow their pets to roam the streets without supervision.

Your hatred seems to be welcome there, and that's why I don't want to go. I don't want to associate with backstabbing criminals.

Zeeland hunter makes rare kill of albino deer
Holland, MI —
Posted Nov 05, 2008
"It wasn’t your typical eight-point buck.
Brett Haveman of Zeeland shot a deer that is almost pure albino recently in Meade Township, which is located in the thumb of Michigan about an hour east of Bay City..."
The article continues and with the hunters deciding on the type of mount.
"The two hunters are deciding on a shoulder mount or a full body mount."
Hunters kill animals purely to collect trophies.
You stupid hate monger. This hunter has never carried a gun outside a fifty mile radius of my home. I have no animal mounts but I have provided the fur industry with naturally renewable biodegradable clothing and my kitchen table with top quality meats. I have no desire to hunt a Tiger ,Elephant or even lion but you are such a smear merchant that you must hate monger all people in order to feel good about yourself. Having said that it also doesn't matter to me if lions need to be culled and if some Government decides to grant licenses to folks who will travel a thousand miles to shoot their lion. It is none of my business but governments that make their animals that valuable to the exotic hunters are the ones who have the healthiest animal populations because the folks living close to those critters get the financial rewards for PROTECTING them from poaching. Also noteworthy::dangerous animals are not being killed,as pests because the government will reimburse poor farmers for farm animals lost or serious crop damage from elephants . Happens a lot in those exotic ranges and villages would starve to death because of the damage .Without those so called trophy hunters there wouldn't be many of those animals left because those farmers would have to kill off those crop & animal destroyers to SURVIVE. The money gained from hunters who go to those areas helps protect the critters by making them more valuable and thus more likely to be watched over by the villagers who now REPORT local POACHERS. If we want to protect animals from extinction we must make them more valuable to the locals in order for the locals to support dangerous animals that those locals live beside. Governments in Africa that use the licensed hunt to exotic hunters have the healthiest wild animal populations. That must tic you off because your ilk would rather those animals extinct rather then hunted. You are one of the worst threats to animal populations that could be found in mankind. You are a self righteous hypocrite that is only worried about pretending her morals are superior and to hell with the truth. PETA kills more animals then hunters for Trophies do.PETA Kills and you support PETA killing those redeemable pets because you don't think it is worth while to spend money from PETA coffers on kibbles and bits for former pets.

Ohio Trophy Hunter Pleas Guilty, Burns Buck Mounts
From the Chillicothe Gazette:
Municipal Court Judge Gary Dumm sentenced Robert W. McCarley, of 16225 Commercial Point Road, to a $250 fine plus court costs, a suspended 30-day jail sentence, two years probation with no related wildlife violation, a 3-year hunting license revocation, and ordered him to write an apology letter to sportsmen.
According to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources-Division of Wildlife, McCarley, 47, reported to a deer check station that he killed the buck, which green scored 220, on Monday, Dec. 8 with a longbow on private property in Franklin County.
State wildlife officers were later informed that the deer was taken legally, but on a pay to hunt preserve in northeast Ohio and that McCarley paid $12,500 for the deer and shot it with a rifle....
McCarley burned all of his deer mounts after being interviewed by officers.

Wow. That's a huge amount of money to hunt on a canned hunt, for a trophy. No wonder Donnie MacLoad is in the biz!
Mamasita/Cayenne. The onus is on you to provide proof that I run a game ranch or have run a game ranch. I have become tired of your lie. I want an apology or I will be seeking legal action against you. This is your final warning . It might be good to do so just to find out who you really are and who you work for. I am sure other folks on here will be glad to find out just who you are and why you are so willing to lie about people over and over again. Your final warning. I have never run a game ranch and am quite sick of your smear campaign. I would exercise the same action if you were accusing me of being a Prime Minister or a Saintly Theologian of Renown because I do not like having LIES told about me.

Alabama boy kills rare and very unique creature
"An 11 year old boy killed a giant will hog estimated to weigh over 1,000 pounds. It measured over 9 feet in length.
“It feels really good,” Jamison, of Pickensville, said in a telephone interview with The Associated Press.“It’s a good accomplishment. I probably won’t ever kill anything else that big.” Jamison, who killed his first deer at age 5, was hunting with father Mike Stone and two guides in east Alabama on May 3 when he bagged Hogzilla II. He said he shot the huge animal eight times with a .50- caliber revolver and chased it for three hours through hilly woods before finishing it off with a point-blank shot.
I think it’s a shame that something like this had to be killed. What makes this especially bad is that it was killed for some kid’s amusement. For the perverse pleasure in killing something. Couldn’t he just play video games? Instead he has to pump eight 50 cal bullets into a truly rare animal and then chase it for three hours to finish it off.
It’s both sadistic and cruel."...'

Mamasita,

What is the average number of pets that PETA puts down on any given day in Norfolk? How many of them are healthy and adoptable?

The answer is not zero, no matter how much you want it to be.

Is it safe to say that we're back on the issue of hunting now that you've been thoroughly exposed (educated...take your pick) on what PETA does?

I support trophy hunters. I don't support wanton waste.

It's such an adrenaline rush to kill animals, these creeps routinely put human lives in danger to make the 'shot'. Sadly, not every person hunter's shoot, lives. Like this woman...

Hunter 'heard whining' after woman shot *

BARRIE -- Seconds after hunter Fred Thomas fired two shots at a buck deer, he heard a moaning sound coming from the forest and thought he must have hit his target, he told a court yesterday.

Instead, he saw a woman lying on the ground.

Thomas, 62, of Keswick, is on trial for manslaughter after he killed Marianne Schmid, 67, in November 2006.

On this last day of his trial, Thomas, who has hunted all his life, said he had no doubt that he saw a "big buck" coming down a hill toward him from about 50 metres away in the Simcoe County forests of Adjala-Tosorontio.

"I looked both ways before I shot," he said.

But between him and the deer was a public hiking and horseback-riding trail where Schmid, a grandmother, was walking along on an unusually warm, sunny day, not knowing it was the first day of hunting season.

With his adrenalin pumping, Thomas said he took aim and fired, twice. "Then I heard this whining or moaning. I thought it was the deer."

He said he waited several seconds, and then went after his kill.

"I saw Mrs. Schmid lying there on the trail."

Crown attorney Greg Barker has suggested it was Schmid -- not a buck -- that Thomas was shooting at, mistaking her light-coloured blouse as the white of a deer.

Earlier in the trial, members of Thomas' hunting party testified he seemed to be in a state of shock and kept rambling on that the woman was wearing white.

"Why was white so important in your mind?" the Crown asked.

"I don't remember saying that," Thomas answered.

"Given that this is a public, multi-use trail, wouldn't it make sense to be shooting somewhere away from walking trails?" the Crown asked.

But Thomas said he had clear vision from the hill he was sitting on and, besides, there were signs of deer scat on the trail.

"Animals use that trail, too."

The judge suddenly interjected:

"There were three hunters south of that public trail, two hunters north of the public trail -- was there no discussion about what if somebody comes along?" Justice Peter Howden asked.

"No," he answered. "I guess we should have."

Closing arguments are to be held today.

He certainly didn't sound like he was remorseful, except that he didn't get his trophy.
