Sign on the door says "CLOSED --- decision made on Friday 4-20 to close down operations".
My wife and I ate there last weekend...food was good, a good crowd, they had put a lot of money and effort into designing and decorating.
This property has been a revolving door of failed establishments --- what gives?

Ate there a couple weeks ago, food was decent nothing to sing about, service completely sucked!
This place has not been a revolving door, Shoney's was there for many many years, it was just the last two (only two) attempts were not good

Yes, I know the history. The differences in favor of Murray's Island Grille were:

1. They put money into the atmosphere (trying to do away with that Shoney's look and feel).
2. They had cars in the parking lot and paying customers in the seats (MOST IMPORTANTLY).
3. They had the Murray's organization and supply chain behind them.

They were drawing customers and generating revenue. Service was actually pretty good when we were there. I'd have liked to see them stay in business --- wondering what caused them to fold.

The two biggest things I've heard is their prices were too high and the service too slow

My wife and I went in there a few weeks ago and Murrays prices were DOUBLE of what shoneys was... less of a selection too- just some fried chicken, a couple of sides, salad stuff- and thats it. We ended up eating at the New China Buffet, killer food for not alot of money.

You always get more for your money's worth at Chinese restaurants. I highly recommend those types. Maybe Caucasian restaurants will get a clue to stop being so greedy with food and high prices and maybe they'll get better business.

In the recent past I believe it was on the news that New Kong Kong in Kingsland, GA had absolutely NO health violations. They got an A+. They have good food and good prices.
