Dispute Over Inmate's Death in Pine Lawn

A North St. Louis County mother says police are lying about her son's death. She doesn't believe he hanged himself in a Pine Lawn jail.

my cousin was not beaten and bruised when he left home that morning. When my aunt went to identify him he was beaten bad and his eye was hanging out of his socket. Pawnlawn did it

It is very unfortunate that this man is deceased, however, it is proven that whenever a death happens in police custody, family and friends of these individuals always point to the police. Their emotions run high and in some cases such as this one, the family doesn't want to accept the truth. Being a former police officer myself, I understand both sides. I understand how a lot of officers get a bad rap for wrong doings one or a couple of officers may have done. Peoople don't forget, officers are people to. It comes down to integrity. Casey, I'm sorry for your lost but, was you cousin resisting arrest, did he assault an officer, did he have a fight prior to being arrested which led to him being taken into custody? These are all questions that should be considered before judging a group of individuals and calling the "Crooked." Teyesbm, you must have an issue with all police officers. Are you a standup citizen or a criminal? Your anger runs deep and it shows through your post.

yes pinelawn police did it i dont care what nobody has to say first they say he hung his self with his drawls and then they say wit a sheet first of all why do you got drawls when you suppose to be in a jail suit and if he didnt have a jail suit on he was fully dress when they took him to the hospital so where did the extra pair of drawls come from. miss STL earlier friday around 4:00pm him and his girlfriend came to my grandmother house to pick they kids up cause they had just got out of school my grandmother told my aunt which is his girlfriend thta she would keep the kids over the weekend they stayed and chatted with the fam outside telling us a story about what happen wit his son they leave 3 hours later we get a call from my aunt saying she was locked up she need me and my friend to come pick her up we goes and get her she tells us her and her boyfriend gets pulled over why cause the plates didnt go to the car and they both had warrants her bond was 78 dollars. the next day which is saturday my aunt comes out to my granny house to pick her kids up. she gets home she has a miss call from pinelawn which she thinking it him calling comes to find out the officer call and say he hung hiself but again the same office that call claim he wasnt on duty man its so much at the end of the day pinelawn did it and the truth will come out and i want everybody who on pinelawn side to say to be people mz_elmwood sholl said pinelawn killed him

Again the Medical examinal have not made the final ruling. How conviently the camara's was off?????????? that in itself make it questionable not to mention that I fine it very hard to believe that a city as small as Pine lawn has to many incidents?????????? Why do they not find other ways to work with the young people to help betty themself because remmeber these or the same young people who will be looking out for them when that get old. to u miss stl I am aware that police officers or human and I do respect the job that they do but some of pinelawn officers or questionable I do know that too be true many of them or crimnals with a gun and need to be weeded out.....no one I mean no one should be above the law and allowed to were a gun and doing the same thing as the criminals.

thats some bs my cousin walked up to a pine lawn police officer and ask him what did he know about the incedent and the police asked him is he your peoples he said yea and the police officer said from what he heard sht just did't sound right the family need to get an attorney as soon as posilble becouse it just dont sound right.my cousin told the officer that he wont tell nobody his name cause he did't want to get him in trouble and he was being real with him and the officer said he dont care cause he just started working there

he also called his mom and told her to bound him out becouse he was worried about pine lawn police.he told her he would pay her back when he got out 4 hours later the police called and told his mom she need to hurry down to the hospital her son then treid to hang himself with some draws when she got down there he was dead on arrival bs.
