Mark Sissel has been the Interim Assistant Superintendent in Carthage now for about 3 months and I have to say that I have witnessed him putting in some long hours and some hard work so in my opinion, he has definitely proven himself to be an excellent educational administrator. He seems to have a handle on state requirements and a goal of improving instruction and accountability. Most importantly, he has a focus on students, something that in my belief, is the most crucial part of education. Also, even though his position is titled as interim and he is temporary, I have seen him at evening events and co-curricular activities. He is certainly one of the best school administrators I have seen in a long time.
