The accident occurred on the downhill section just past the juvenile facility (at least that's where all the flares were when I drove through later)

Since it was a single car accident, I'm guessing it was a misjudgment on her part rather than anything a signal could have prevented. However, I do agree that this is a dangerous intersection: lots of people turning onto Lockwood who are too impatient to wait until it is safe to turn.

Not to mention all the trespassers who are crossing the road with their horses, mountain bikes and dogs going into Henry Cowell here...That said, the accident was way down the road by Ponderosa Lodge. Looks like she went off the side of the road where that really deep ditch is and flipped off the berm by MHA's driveway. By the way, does flare juice taste good to fish? Lots of it was running off during the rain...
