I'd like to talk about fires that are being purposefully set by teens on the Salmon Creek Greenway. I don't mean little fires, I mean flames up to 6 feet high or higher.

Twice this week alone, the Felida & Hazel Dell fire department have been called out to the area where Cougar Creek trail meets the Salmon Creek trail (just south of the wooden bridge on the greenway).

These fires not only pose a threat to Felida's beautiful riparian woodland, but also endanger families living in the immediate area.

I'd like to suggest a solution in the form of a 'watch' patrol that (at least for the summertime) walks the trails to try to control the problem with the help of local services. Anyone interested?
