Owners of weapons affected by the bill would be able to keep them if they allow the local sheriff's department to inspect and make sure they are stored "safely and securely." The weapons can still be used at firing ranges.

"We're not going to take away anybody's weapon," Kline said. "There will be zero confiscation of weapons, but there will be no new weapons allowed."
We've heard these lies before. They always end up in someone losing their firearms. Not everyone though. The rich get to keep their expensive firearms. It is the poor and the middle class who looses every time.

"The bill was named in honor of 18-year-old Aaron Sullivan, who was shot and killed by a SKS 7.62-caliber rifle in Seattle in July."

I bought my Russian Tula Armory SKS in honor of Chi Vang, who shot a bunch of attackers with his SKS in self-defense and was wrongfully convicted of murder.

"After 2009 ended in a hail of high-profile gun violence, Washington state's gun-control advocates are frustrated by an apparent lack of political support for an assault weapons ban"

Of course those few crimes were "high profile", crimes of all kinds, including murder are at an all time low, the FBI having declared in a recent press release that murder has sharply declined for three years in row is EVIDENCE of this fact.

What do they want a city wide search warrant so they can enter any house at any time.

Does police state come to mind?

The term "Assault Weapon" is used to demonize commonly used weapons and allow their confiscation from law abiding people. My contention is that if you are likely to face a thug who has a SKS, you should be able to have a SKS to defend your self with. You should be able to employ equal force!

Does Revolution come to mind...? That's how the original started with "the shot heard around the world"....gun control...gun confiscation.

I would be willing to bet that most people in Wash. state that are in favor of this bill do not even know what an actual "assault weapon" is. bunch of panty-waisted nanny-staters.

The 1830 Springfield cap lock muskett my great great grandfather brought home from the War of Northern Aggresion in 1867 is definately an "Assult weapon" . It is fitted for a bayonet and was the primary weapon used in assualts on troops during the war by both sides. Will I have to give it up?

If the Socialists have their way, you'll have to give up even the photos of old grand dad in uniform if he is holding that Springfield.

No it is not so much the guns as it is they want us to give up our freedoms and rights so they can have complete control.

After that all modes of transportation.

All means of support.

While their at it might as well sterilize a few people so they can pick a choose the society they want.

America's Socialists have supported eugenics for as long as it has been a "science". But the best part of it is, they have made their base (the ones who they'd remove from the planet) believe that it is the conservative parties who are the racists! Oh man! that is some rich stuff!

My contention is that the people should have SKS and AK pattern rifles, so that if there's a commie invasion, we can use all the ammo their paras care to bring, in our own guns.

I wonder: What if he'd been stabbed to death? Would they be attempting to outlaw knives?
And what if there had been a 'spate' of murders caused by arrows, would they be attempting to outlaw those too?
The idiots attempted what they are now trying now back in 1997 with Initiative 676, and that went down in flames by a better than 70% margin when the people voted on it.
And I wonder why they haven't named a bill after a citizen wrongfully killed (murdered) by cops?
And I wonder when they'll go after revolvers, seeing as how at least one person can shoot 5 rounds in 1.06 seconds? That's faster than most semiauto pistols or rifles ...
Virtually all of this crassness is nothing but hype, and they know it.
Then there's that idiot from Washington Cease Fire who pretends to declare that because there are lots of guns and there's a recession on, that the possibility for mass murder is rife. Well if that supposed to be true, then why oh why wasn't it true back in the last depression before the 1934 NFA? And what about the last several economic depressions?
Those utter morons know that most people are mostly dumb to history, and that if most people were to discover the truth, why they'd be exposed as the snake oil salesmen they really are.

According to firsthand news releases by Alex Jones, who was present at a few 'training exercises' which involved the use of foreign troops from several NATO nations, if there's to be any kind of invasion it will likely be by those nations, Canada included.
Apparently NorthCom is licking its chops at the prospect of using force against its own fellow citizens, because a while back it signed an agreement with the Canadians to allow their troops to enter U.S. territory and employ military force against we the people, should that be seen as necessary to quell a political uprising.
You have more to fear from your own army than any commie nation.
And don't forget those boy scouts either.

I hope and pray to never have to fight US troops. However, if I do discover myself in such a predicament, I too was trained my Uncle Sam. There ate hundreds of thousands just like me, who will not stand for some needle dicked bug fukers taking over our nation with the aid of Quisling troops.

That's just the thing: Those at the top KNOW that with all these past wars they have gotten the rest of us involved in, that there's a VERY significant population which been trained as well as the current crop of volunteers/inductees, and THAT scares them.
Why do you think it is that they've trained other NATO troops to operate within our borders, in certain urban terrain, and with protesters trained to act as the average American citizen demanding his rights be respected?
They want the foreign troops to KNOW what to expect, and many of those despise us because of preconceived notions.

A breakdown of society is a more likely scenario. Look at Katrina. Look at what happened in Haiti. What happens when the "New Madrid "Quake hits. What happens when the San Anderus Fault triggers the big one. A dirty Bomb, plague or monetary collapse of the dollar. Your neighbors, marauders, looters , relatives will become a threat to you. You could be on your own for months! How much food can you lay your hands on right this minuet? Water? First aid supplies? Flashlights? Rope? Fuel? Generators?. Are you prepared to camp out in your yard in the winter? I haven't even asked about guns because I already know you have guns and ammo. But what about the other stuff?

I must ask: Why would anyone 'camp out' in the yard when they have a perfectly good house to live in? Is there something wrong with living in the house? Did the dog take over and kick you out?
As for the 'other stuff,' there's an old saying: "Piss-poor planning leads to piss-poor performance," or P^3 = P^3 (P cubed = P cubed)

The reasons you stated here are the reason everyone living in a earthquake or hurricane zone should have a SHTF/JIC (sh*t hits the fan / just in case) kit and be ready to bug out in minutes. I can have my truck packed and be gone in about 10 minutes if necessary.

and hopefully the people that set up and stored those kits have placed them where I won't have to move an entire house of rubble just to find them.
