Why is it that Fayetteville does not fine citizens who do not keep their yards mowed. I do not mean mow every week. I live beside a neighbor who has not mowed all summer. I call the town of Fayetteville every year and they say it will be taken care of. Haven't seen it yet! This has been going on for years. I thought there was a town law for this inexcusable trashy behavior. Are you not fined, or the town mows for you, and you are charged for their service?? I know our town employees drive around town in our city automobiles daily. They can see lawns unkept. This should be reported and I should not have to call and report this filth. My neighbors yard may have been mowed once this year, but here I am looking at tall, tall grass, again this year. Get up and do something Fayetteville!!!!

How old are your neighbors? Maybe you need to get off your crybaby --- and be a good neighbor and mow it for them. Seems to me that the town of Fayetteville has more important things to do then drive around and see who's mowing their grass or not.

You may want to check with the City to see exactly what their ordinance is in regards to lawns that are in city limits. Most cities have them, and more and more are enforcing them.

When I was younger I worked for the city maintenance, there are a lot of people who are naturalists and even got mad when we cut sidewalk overhang of briers and poison ivy. I doubt the town can do much, I know we were advised to only cut if it was on city property obstructing a public walk.

That was a long time ago, I don't know what the rules are now.

City of Fayetteville, here we go again! Same yard I commented about last year, dated in Sept. This yard has not been mowed all year. The grass is extremely high and my grandchild saw a snake crawl out of the tall weeds yesterday. This is not safe and it is a terrible eye sore. I just found out the people who own the property live out of state. What do they care! This house has been vaccant for years. This is in city limits and it should be taken care of. As for the comment from Peter Brady, bet you work for the town. I have mowed this yard several times. In fact probably more than the owners. I took the risk of getting hurt or throwing a rock through a window while mowing. Who would have to pay for that? I am no longer able to take that risk due to my age and health, and frankly do not feel I should. Like I said, you probably work for the town since this annoyed you so much. Don't you take pride in your town or just where you live? I cannot mow my own yard but I pay for somebody to. Another neighbor mowed this yard twice last year but he feels the same way I do. This takes your money for gas, your time, your liability, and somebody out of state sitting back reaping the benefits. How can you think this is fair. Bet you wouldn't do it. Heck, you didn't think it fair to just report. Who needs to get off of their ---? Fayetteville, do something about lawns not being mowed!!

Lee, why don't you be practical? I suggest you write a letter to the owners and ask them to make arrangements to have the grass mowed. On the subject of snakes in the tall grass, they're probably just harmless garter snakes which would be killing the mice which you probably also dislike.
