Well, lets see the guys who went to the state playoff's in 1985 they were awesome. Someone mentioned the White Brothers they were really good.
I liked watchin, Jon Paul,Bill Sanger,Sean Walker, Lee Castello, Greg Kent, Dale SExton,Richie Smith, Those guys in 85 86 87 just loved to watch them. It was like a great big group of brothers that really cared about each other, their school, and community all together. I know I could list alot more, like. Pete, Chris, Scott, from 85 the guys from 86, and Marty, Kenny, from 87. YOu were all such a great group of friends and football players.
If you mention them you have to mention the dad of Andrew Weis, Andy Weis of CLASS OF 88

Kevin Mealy was the only 2,000 yard rusher in a single season at Fayetteville 1978 or 79. Chris Selvey returned 4 punts for tds and was amoung state leaders in receptions his senior year 84 season. Bruce Parsons was probably the best all around athlete I've seen play football at this school, Bruce was a tremendous leader on the field and had a knack for making tacklers really look bad. There have been many great players at Fayetteville High over the years, But these 3 would be a good place to start.

What about the past couple years? some very good players have came from those teams. Drew weis, Chase Lafferty, Mach Hernandez. and the current running back, Hunter Hernandez. Hernandez is one of the best backs ive seen come through Fayetteville.

Obviously you haven't been watching Fhs football for as long as u have, Hernandez is good don't get me wrong but he only had 1400 yards in his first starting season, Weis had around 5200 in four years and HE isn't the best. Sedlock or Mealy would probably be the best, if u want to talk stats we can go around and around, I have all of then for the past 20-25 years

I agree with u on Bruce, he was an amazing athlete, Selvey was good also but what about players that produced every year and every game?

well first of all,the guys who won the state champion ship were some of the best, they are the ones who won it all and the only ones who has done it ever, these guys who play now arent even in the same league as the ones that played then, dont get me wrong but the boys that play now could not touch the championship team or the team the year after in 1993 or teams before the championship team here are just some names of some of the best players,Tim Frantz, tommie hull, bob mealy, john goodson, woo dickerson, robert harris, all the arritt boys, brent conley, mike dodd, jason burdette, mike linkous, brian merchant, phillip johnson, jimmy johnson, kevin mealy, anthony mealy, coach punk spangler, the 86 and 87 teams the 91 team was 10 and 0 92 team was 9 and 1 and won states 93 team was 9 and 1 and went to playoffs and many more, they were a special breed and they all played with heart and soul and played as a team

There has been 3 Fayetteville teams make the Championship, One team has most of the starters named in your response, Anthony Mealy is the only name off the other 2, I played on the 84 team and I by no means am going to say we were better or worse than the 92 team, But I will say this for 100% sure. You could combine the best the 92 team and the 84 team had together and the 84 Sistersville team would beat the hell out of us 7 days a week!! The teams that each team met in the championship was very differant. And by the way the 86 team went 6-4 and the 87 team although much hyped to start the season finished 3-7.

I remember when Jim Odell had 420 yards against Anstead, he ended his career with over 3600 yards rushing, and over 2100 yards thru the air! Turned down scholarships and joined Navy.
