I boycott at level... Nasty! There's dust/crumbs on every table and in the condiment holders. There are coffee grinds on the floor behind the counter. I can only imagine the conditions in the kitchen. In addition, other than Naomi, their service has been below sub-par for years! To create the simple breakfasts they sell should not require a 45 minute wait!

Put up or shut up! What scores at restaurants you frequent? What score gives you a red flag to start a thread like this and not back it up?

Actually I'm not that other person, the one who started this post! I simply agree their cleanliness is despicable! I never saw any lists or ratings, I can use my own eyes to see the nastiness and terrible service.

I went to the link above and saw two things:

1st, the Cathedral Cafe had 20 critical violations and 18 non-critical violations in December.

2nd, when inspected after they had time to correct the problems, they had zero critical and zero non-critical violations.

Its a great thing they were corrected. What everybody does not understand is that a "critical" can be something VERY silly, such as a crumb under a microwave. Until you work in the restaurant/food service you would not understand., However... I have NEVER heard of the numbers they got. WOW! Thats bad. The owner needs to get her head out of the clouds, and clean. Get some staff that cleans, and doesnt look like they just rolled out of bed, or their tent.

That kitchen will never be clean. Its a nasty space and would need to be rebuilt to get cleaned properly.

I could not agree more with Concerned Citizen! I heard in December they had to shut down in the middle of a weekday, send everybody home, etc. And I guarantee it was because they failed a health inspection! Five years ago this was a great local establishment but now that it's being run into the ground, I am praying for it to sell and be cleaned up/run by somebody else.

If I worked at a place that got that score I would expect to be fired.

The only joke is you trying to deflect the attention to other restaurants in town! I don't know any of these people you are talking about. All I know is Cathedral is disgusting and needs to be cleaned or put under new ownership/management!

The Cathedral Cafe is the absolute last place anyone should go if they want good service. I know this is a casual restaurant but the service is far beyond just casual. Only if you have a lot of time to waste and don't mind paying sky-high prices for mediocre food, would I recommend the Cathedral Cafe. With their terrible reputation, I can't see how anyone will ever pay $299,000 to buy this place.

no other place had 20 critical violations,
or even 10. If it got scored on prompt, courteous service, it would get 100 critical violations ~ those waitresses act like THEY are paying YOU to walk in. And those loud-mouthed women regulars hurt what business that might make it past the snotty, indifferent wait staff.

Most of us local people quit going to the Cathedral Cafe a long time ago. I guess most of their business probably comes from tourists who don't know any better. I might go there once or twice a year and never see any local people there that I know.
