I am relocating to Fayetteville soon. Would like to know if there are any activities for outdoorsy, social, people in the area. Example: Canoeing Club for the Elk River, etc;
Thanks!

There is canoeing on the elk and you are also with in a hour of many great hikeing trails either in Tn or Al. There are several hikeing and canoeing clubs around this area .
This is a very beautiful area.

Thanks for the info. Do you live in the area? It would be nice to explore with someone who knows their way around!

I have to bump this to the top. I may have an opportunity in Fayetteville as well, and would just like to know about it.
I am looking over fayettevillent.com right now. But I would like to know from the people who live there. Thanks in advance.

I am in the process of moving to F'ville now. What I've observed so far has all been positive. The people are very nice and helpful. Be ready to slow down, and enjoy the peace and quiet. I welcome the change -- quite different from the noise and traffic I'm leaving behind..... I will keep you posted on my progress.

That sounds good. I was there this past Saturday/Sunday, but spent most of my time at a place in Elora (I think) where a friend was playing. Everyone that I met there was super-friendly though. I moved from Nashville to where I live now, which is a very small town, and am more acclimated to the whole no-traffic, peace and quiet thing (hahaha), so it wouldn't be sever culture shock. Anyway, I plan to come back maybe next week to see about this position, and plan to spend a little more time checking the place out. As far as what to do, where to go, things to see, etc., any and all suggestions are welcome.

I am a realtor and have several properties in Fayetteville that you might be interested in. I know some about what is in Fayetteville, and what is coming. One member of the team that I work with (real estate) lives in Fayetteville and can answer your questions I am sure. Contact me and let me see what I can do for you.

At least you aren't thinking of moving to Nashville aka trashville aka nastyville the sex offender/pedophile capital of the world. There are thousands of unregistered sex offenders and pedophiles that live in this city and nobody is doing anything about it. If you have children, they would not be safe here.

You want advice on moving to Fayetteville, Tennessee? I have three (counts on fingers to be sure) words to offer. Those being: Dont... do... it. HaHa. No. Seriously. Y'all come. We have had a serial killer (Billy Allen, back in the '70s, before the term 'serial killer' was even being used; a mass murderer named Jacob Shaffer and a high school shooting - Davis and Creson - within just a few decades. That's how we roll. lol
