"...Assistant Principal Brian Hostetler..." Hmm, is he at the middle school now?
Just old fashioned

Oh, goody. More bells and whistles.

And wouldn't it be nice if we could all "work at our own pace" at our jobs?

Better still, why? There are plenty of online schooling options available that would not require the additional expense of adding these classes to the district. Is the plan to do away with brick and mortar buildings, like the new high school? What does the district know about creating and running online classes? I'm sure someone has dug up a study that shows how much improvement students will make after the task of actually reading a book is removed, but would that really happen when the overseers are inexperienced?

The delivery of education needs to change along with the changing times/requirements of the world. We all know change is tough but it is inevitable.

The children of today only know technology...they are different from those of us who grew up 30 years ago....they compete for jobs in a different world than we did/do.

I applaud the district for beginning to offer this type of education. The students will be much better prepared for jobs and college by these experiences.

I enjoyed studying with SMUDE.
