I'm currently in Afghanistan about to come back home to Fayetteville, NC. I have been riding harley's for a few years and want to join an MC when I get back. I'm looking for brotherhood. Guys that stand by each other no matter what. Any advice would be appreciated... and please don't make this about bashing the wingmen. I've heard about enough of that.

Indy is right...just ride your bike and you'll eventually meet people from various clubs in the Fayetteville area. Keep in mind that no two clubs are alike; although some look similiar; no two are exactly alike. Don't believe all the crap you read on Topix, and other websites like WTN and OBW and etc. You can also do some research on the internet about (different) MCs in North Carolina; check out their websites (if they have one) to get an idea what certain clubs are about and who they are.

Best bet is to watch them when they are in a bar, club or bike event, and see how the patch holders interact with one another and with "John Q Public" then make your determination.

Either way, to really get to know a MC, you need to meet them and hang out with them.

Good luck.

I've done as much research as I can. I work in the intel field so I'm pretty good at that sort of thing. I couldn't find a whole lot on any one group. Looks to me that these groups are like any other... some good and bad in all of them. Any specific information anyone has to add would be great. I will however follow your advice Snot. That was probably the best take on things I've read yet. I appreciate it.

There are several mail order clubs in Fayetteville. Just apply online, mail in your check and get patches. Look at the Warrior Brotherhood, Nam Knights and Infidels. They will accept most anyone in the military that has a bike.

The real clubs in Fayetteville are a little more selective and take much longer to get into.

Define real clubs. I'm not the type to do something just to do something. If I'm going to do it I go all the way.

The real MC's in Fayetteville are the Wingmen MC, Hells Angels MC, Veterans MC and the Southern Riders MC.

The Hells Angels will not entertain active duty service members. That leaves the Wingmen, Vets and Southern Riders.

The Southern Riders have some active duty service members in their club, but they are for the most part lower ranking, support guys. The Wingmen and Vets are heavy on senior NCOs with a concentration in SF and other combat arms.

All the clubs mentioned here have been in Fayetteville for 20 years or longer. The mail order clubs have popped up recently because their members did not or could not make it with a more established club.

Thanks Bill. That was probably the most non-biased review of the whole of them I've seen. I appreciate it.

I would disregard the comments of Dozer and Mr.Bill. Snot has offered the best advice. Ride and you will meet members of the different MCs. See what you like about each club. You need to figure out why you want to join and what you hope to gain. A patch on your back doesn't make you stronger, smarter or give you a bigger tool.

Someone shoould tell this to the kids that the wingnuts have patched over the last six years. Silly wingnuts. Young kid deploys downrange, buys a bike from the PX and the wingnuts start recruiting on them. Next thing you know they are an instant hard core biker. Funny.

I get that the patch doesn't make me hard core... just like wearing a tapout shirt doesn't make you a fighter. I get that. That's not the goal. I stated my goals in my first post. I've got nothing to prove to anyone. And Dozer... come on man. Enough with the wingmen bashing. I get that alot of folks don't like them but lets stay on topic.

Since when have the infidels earned a patch? Get real. They are just like everyone else. Jumping on the on tough biker band wagon, but not man enough to join an existing club. Whats wrong, all the other clubs just too tough for you that you have to make your own? The infidels, warrior gagle, and all the other johny come lately clubs to Fayeteville will got eh way of the Last Chance and will not exist in five years.

And Dozer (aka Gregg), you fat smelly pieceos $hit. Does your bike even run? When is the last time you washed yourself or your bike? Was at the SRMC party a few weeks ago and you grossed everyone out and your bike was disgraceful. Tough biker my a$$. WFFW

last time I was in town, I saw a dozen patches flyin all over town. why don't these clubs do something about it? it seems that everybody wants to be SAMCRO. people say these guys aren't man enough to join a real club, well... why don't the real clubs put a stop to it? Fayetteville is falling apart.

I find it amusing when posters talk about joining a "real" club and there are only a few "real" clubs in Fayetteville. What makes it a "real" club? I suspect the HA, OL, Banditos, and Pagans would laugh at the "real" clubs in Fayetteville. If you knew a litttle about the MC world the only clubs that really care about territory are the 1% clubs. Those clubs don't want other 1% clubs coming in and potentially taking away their criminal activity fund raising. That is why you have 1% clubs fighting over territory. So why would any of the "real" clubs in Fayetteville care who flew colors? Unless of course they are 1% supporters or wanabees.

Thank you so much for explaining how this all works. The input on what you "suspect" the 1% clubs think was particularly informative. Please post any thoughts that you might have as quickly as you can. I eagerly await your informed opinion. Prior to reading your post I thought only jack as*es took this crap seriously. Nice to know that there are really smart guys like you out there.

Funny how all of the posters that go through AOL are all in support of the wingnuts. Probably the same wingdummy posting with different names. The dummies are still fools, not respected or to be taken seriously as a club. Just a bunch of soldier boys playing dress up and pretending.
