5NEWS Satellite Truck Lost in the White River

Late Wednesday night a 5NEWS live truck went into the White River. A 5NEWS crew was setting up for a live shot in South Fayetteville off Pump Station Road when the van rolled into the water.

Sorry about your loss. I really enjoy your news coverage here in Ft. Smith and surrounding areas. Glad no one was hurt. I hope that the guy that did not put the brake on does not loose his job or get his pay docked for 10 years. Hey, its an honest mistake. Hope you had insurance. I'm sure you did and can buy replacement equipment. But what about flood insurance. Guess not, eh.

Maybe if you had truck ops, the photog could have been doing their job and the truck opp could have been taking care of the truck. And is that one of the automated sats? Another dumb idea. I sure hope they replace this equipment soon. Channel 5 is the only station that reports River Valley news anymore.
