Obama is clearly a very intelligent man. Listening to him is so much better than listening to Bush. I heard progress through compromise and the need to attack gun violence as the salient points tonight. Obama has clearly tried to be bi-partisan in his first term. Will the GOP finally rise to work with him this second term?

When has he ever been bi-partisan? The Republicans are the only chance we have for saving this country from obama.

Obama's idea of compromise is leaving the room, until everyone agrees with him.

I heard more of the same old anti-American attacks.

Unless and until he can produce a budget and balance a check book, you should reconsider that foolish 'intelligent' reference. He is ridiculous and foolish and harmful. Oh! And quite a disgrace

Just say you hate Obama because he's black because this man HAS tried meeting in the middle in his 1st term... in the 1st 3 years to be exact.

If he leads, he's a dictator, a socialist (despite our social democracy). If he lets a room of 'capable' elected people debate, he is not a leader. So which is it?

Did you notice Republicans not applauding when it came to middle class family issues? Minimum wage? House purchases? Repairing our country? Pay equality? It's like the sound of improving our economy disgusted them....... oh wait it does!!! It's why they haven't talked about jobs since 2010 when that's the concept they all RAN ON!

It's Congress' JOB to budget and balance. They control the votes to do so. The President is just one branch to agree with or disagree with Congress through a process called checks and balances. However, when Obama has to start using executive order because a REPUBLICAN Congress hasn't been able to get their stuff together since 2008... then you might have a stronger arguement how evrything is only HIS fault and not ANY PART to do with a 'RED HOUSE'.

Oh!! I always forget that EVERYTHING is ALWAYS someone else's fault! Forgive me. Wonder why he hasn't used one of those pesky "if they don't see it MY way, I'll just shove it down their throats with one of those executive order thing-a-ma-bobs" yet? Maybe having a budget in place really isn't a priority for him? Maybe he doesn't like that ole check and balance system you spoke of? Lord knows, there has never been another President in history who had to work with and reach across part lines! Poor Obama! It is his JOB to lead, not just complain and blame. The other poster was correct- he had Dem control until 2010! You like to play the blame game too I guess, or, you've learned from Mr O how to forget the facts that don't support your argument.
All he talked about was spend spend spend. Some were good ideas too. But, they are going to cost cost cost! He spoke of unicorns and rainbows and cookies and ice cream! And how all the families who had a loved one involved in one if the recent shootings should 'get a vote' too!! Yep! Always playing on emotion that guy. I agree. But, every single family who has had a family member SAVED by their own weapon...well, THEY all deserve a vote too!! Politicians are one sided usually. This dude has written a new chapter in the book though! Like I said, it's a disgrace.

He has never done anything to meet anyone in the middle. He is a liberal extremist.

The Republicans did not applaud, because they know it would hurt all Americans. Raising the minimum wage is a stupid idea right now. It will only increase unemployment and decrease economic growth.

I agree with you that oDumbo believes that improving our economy is disgusting. That is why he is working so hard to make it worse.

I am tired of all you racist tring to blame everything on race. You will complete support everything this racist president says, regardless of how destructive he is.

The entire disgrace of the union was nothing but more of the same anti-American policy. Punish the hard working Americans and reward the lazy. The fact is that we will soon run out of hard working Americans.
