Holding back, coming out

Full story: www.sunherald.com

Zach Booth of Vicksburg was 13 years old and had never seriously pondered his sexual orientation. "I wasn't particularly attracted to girls, but I just figured I would grow into it," said Booth, now 21. "But then one day a bunch of us were at the pool and this guy, who was a little older than me, took his shirt off and I could not take my eyes off of him. "That's when I went 'Oh, crap. Am I gay?' It was so hard to reconcile that thought in my own mind. All I had ever heard was that gay people were bad and someone you don't want to be. I remember looking in the mirror and thinking 'You don't look gay.' It just didn't seem possible." There are countless stories similar to Zach Booth's, said Sarah Young, a new voices fellow with the American Civil Liberties Union of Mississippi and a member of the Mississippi Safe Schools Coalition, which summarizes its mission as an organization to "ensure that students have a safe learning environment by protecting students' constitutional rights, ending discrimination and fostering acceptance through public education."

This kid has a lot of courage to be openly gay in high school in a place like Mississippi. I would fear for his safety myself.

It takes a lot of courage to be a gay teen just about everywhere. I knew I was a lesbian by age sixteen, but dated boys as a cover up. I suppose you could say the late 1960's were different, but I don't really think by that much. Power and God's strength to all who support gay teens!!

I know how hard it is to be Gay & noone knows. I had no friends in school,so it was quite easy to just be myself. I did have to quit gym, because my eyes would wonder & I got caught a couple of guys calling me a faggot. In the beginning I was no good at any sports, so the coach made me the towel boy to give out towels to the guys taking showers & I couldn't take it anymore, so I quit & took another class. It was a strange because I was the towel boy in Junior High & High School & I was over loading my brain with all these naked guys.

I know it was easy for me to hide that I was gay but that poor boy in Mississippi is probably going to have a hard time coming out. I lived in California by San Francisco, so it wasn't that bad back then i the 60's & 70's. I am 51 now & I have never had a LTR & really noone knows except my family & my Therapist & some people at a group that I attend & they are women. None of the guys know about me. I live in a very sad world.

Matthew 5
21 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shall not kill:(or murder) and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:

22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment. Once the kingdom of heaven had come, it raised a new standard; for now it was not only murder, but anger that puts us in danger of the judgment.

22 And whosoever shall say to his brother Raca, shall be in danger of the council; but whosoever shall say thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

Matthew 25:31-46
The Sheep and the Goats
31"When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his throne in heavenly glory. 32All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.

34"Then the King will say to those on his right,'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'

37"Then the righteous will answer him,'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'

40"The King will reply,'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'

41"Then he will say to those on his left,'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.'

44"They also will answer,'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?'

45"He will reply,'I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.'

46"Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life."

"all I ever heard was that gay people were bad"

Kinda sums it all up in a nutshell. And they wonder why we want anti-bigotry classes taught in school.

Is that what you have done?

You never married or had kids, so as to dedicate yourself fully to Christ?

Explain, in retail, how you have "forgotten" about yourself.

FYI, douching is incredibly UNhygenic...it destroys the natural balance in your vagina. That is my public service announcement for the day, lol.

Daily Horoscope for January 2

Capricorn

Self deception will be the main issue today. You may be judging your situation wrongly: don't hold back, say what you think diplomatically and without being hurtful. This should result in a positive mental outlook for you. Competitive sports activity will ease any stress or tension.
