All of us should care. This is our city government at work here folks of Higbee. We elected them, it should concern us as to what is going on down there at city hall with our tax dollars and decisions our elected officials make or have made. Wake up and ask a question. It is allowed by law and it should be important. Look at what is happening on the national level with health care. It takes the attitude of who cares to allow such happenings in a small town or in washington dc.

City government gossip? Just curious here? So your belief is that no one should have a voice in local or state or federal government? I think that they call that a dictatorship, if I am not mistaken? Me not in favor of that, we have enough of that now.

I agree These are the people that are a threat to our country, our American way of life. They are the ones that need rounded up . I myself still believe in the right to know and exercise the right to get involved and bring attention to those who feel we are being nosey... to me these people are promoting a communistic view ....stay out of their buisness? are you kidding me? FAT CHANCE !

I feel sorry for the farmers that don't have all their crops in yet! This rain is making it really hard to do anything other than take a nap!

Sorry, but that is just nasty to have sewer water in your basement! They should have to fix it for him, but yet again they will get away with it somehow being his fault, not theirs!

what is this shit with the water bills going up so much? Where is all the extra money going to go?
Is some-one going to get a big raise, or a new car?
Maybe someones pockets are going to be a little more full of the green stuff? A small increase in utility bills can be expected from time to time, but this is highway robbery. This cannot be let to slide by without some sort of explaination. Come on city government, lets hear some reasons for this.

Much did they go up? I heard like $20 or something? Is that true?

How many meters are there in town? What maybe 200??? With that scenario that is an extra $4000 a month for the city. WOW.

What was the reason?

Make sure you get behind new candidates and vote in April, 2010. That is a step in the right direction to prevent these types of things from happening.

If the city is charging every house in Higbee an extra $19.78 a month to put aside to get a grant & the grant does NOT go threw, where will that money go? Who will get to decide on this? I guess just as all the other things that the Mayor and Aldermen sponser as Maz Days, Thanksgiving dinner, Christmas lights at the park, ect...., really where does this money come from? THE PEOPLE OF HIGBEE, and do they get to decide on this? NO NO NO! The Mayor does not put any of this money in at all, she has no taxes at all!!!! Wish I could spend others money too.
