i am glad fayette is "going wet". the main people that did not want to pass this vote are the same people who think their $ runs fayette n dont want even its own citizens to have a say so. get excited n b positive that this will b benificial b/c there will b businesses opening that will attract people from other counties to spend their $ here n we can recirculate our hard eanrned $ right back into the city. fayette should b ashamed that so many businesses die out. the youth can't wait to graduate and get out of town b/c there is no promise to them in this city, barely a desent paying job unless of course "somebody knows somebody". at least now there will b progress. BETTER LATE THEN NEVER!

Fayette was already wet, wet, wet,. The only thing was that it was not being taxed and regulated. There was boot legging everywhere and folks that purchased from bootlegging had to pay more. There were always those that drove just over the county line below Newtonville to purchase wine and beer. It was not always the best brand of wine either, the troopers and the sheriff's cars were doing a visual on who did a turn around after about 30 minutes going back into Fayette. Now that it is wet, people can buy and take it home unless they are eating at a restaurant. I would pray that the current law enforcement are too high caliber to sit outside a restaurant and stalk someone on the way home however I think they might have been justified to watch those coming back from just below Newtonville, to see if they might be drinking before getting back to Fayette. Fayette is a good town and has good people the only probable is there are no jobs and they very foolishly took up their own railroad tracks to the outside world.
Fayette needs a boys club that has recreation for young men, a YMCA and a YWCA. All the sewing plants need to be brought back. Washington needs to impose a high tariff on companies thatare American owned that have moved to China etc., and are importing back. Tariff up all their profits.
The Bevill college could offer sub and unsubsidized loans for students so that they would have funds to live off from while attending Bevel The financial aid office has nothing to offer young people.
It was a good thing for Fayette to go wet. God Bless Fayette. Most are all good people and they need a chance, they need jobs.
