What services will the Village lose to the town? What savings will the village see? How will this effect the tax base for services. What jobs will be absorbed by the town? The last thing I saw was they were going to do a report on the cost and if it would be a benefit to the people to do this or not?

I am not seeing this name on the list of voter registered in the village of Blasdell where I too reside. If the entire village was dissolved, and example, the current administrative salaries are a little over 500,000 dollars. Now if there are 1500 homes, that 450.00 annual savings to the taxpayerper home not including benefits, equpment, buildings, etc etc. Each taxpayer could see my opinion and guess around 500-700 hundred dollars annual savings on their taxes. The State of NY even has funds available to go through and pay for consolidation and wil also fund after it occurs for a period of time.

Blasdell is dying. They cannot even perform vital code enforcement services and provide part time police services by mainly correction officers performing part time work. The water system in Blasdell is old and need serious repairs and the village cannot afford that also. Our fire fighters are given no incentives and response time can be well over 10-15 minutes. Not the fault of the volunteer but the fault of management hanging onto their own egos and jobs at the expense of the taxpayer again! Heck we had huge issues with snow removal and the Mayor was no where to be found. The clrk ran around saying she was the village administrator, a position that technically does not exist, we have a Mayor who also is a prison guard. Consolidation always works. Was not LakeView a village at one time, if they were they still look good being part of the Hamburg township. Hamburg should also be the HUB for all south-towns activities and the traffic court should be consolidated to this HUB with the elimination of courts in all other villages and towns. We only need one court system in the southtowns. Eventually the state will pass a law soon forcing all villages to dissolve within townships they venue.

Your internet record states that you voted Republican this last election. How can you than support this crap about a HUGE centralist government in Albany forcing a democratic people to consolidate. If the majority of the people in blasdell want to merge with Hamburg so be it. I think if you really want to represent the people as a trustee, You than should shut up and listen to the people! I bounce inbetween NC and Blasdell because of my job, and the taxes in NY drive me nuts. However, I love this village, and am willing and able to pay the extra money to get the great services I do in blasdell. If it snows in NC about 1/2 inch it shuts down the whole county! One last thing, If you think Hamburg does not have overhead to cover with your taxes(i.e. you implied lower taxes with consolidation)you are insane!
