And SOME can...end of the day, they still can make some great music, whether sampling a beat, making one on a drum machine, chopping it up on 2 turn tables...some are really talented.
"Sampling a beat" AKA, playing back music someone else has written and played. Let's just say that some display a moderate level of talent in a no talent required field.

The hip-hop/rap community turns out yet another violent fan, what a shock! More evidence that this form of music is a blight to society! What else do you expect when the majority of these "artists" sing about slinging dope, drive-by shootings, degrading women and living a fantasy life-style. Well done black community for bringing this sensational aspect of music to our society!
We in the black community apologize to you for not rising to reflect the stellar example of civil obedience of those such as Roman Polanski, Bernie Madoff,
Jordan Van Der Sloot, Lindsey Lohan, Paris Hilton, The Jersey Shore cast, Timothy McVeigh, and Rush Limbaugh.(I characterize that list of people as "individuals", not the representation of all white people.) There are good and bad individuals of all races.
Seriously you show your narrow minded racists views by painting everyone with a VERY broad brush even though the suspect in this story is white, you have found a way to pin it all on 12% of the nations population. No such thing as personal accountablity for ones actions?

To all the people who hate rap, get over it. It's not meant for you. Like I cannot stand show tunes so I don;t listen to it.

BTW, Rap is VERY profitable for the music industry and is one of the leading money makers and has been for years. It's not going to go away.

Don't like. Don't pay attention to it.

Ya right, all you mommies and daddies out there disregard the fact that Rap is distroying your kids chances of growing-up to become a prodctive member of society by influencing his/her mind towards the commission of crimes and other acts against their fellow man. How bright is that!!!

The problem doesn't start with the music, it starts with people like this being brought up with no moral compass. Blame bad child rearing before you blame the influence of culture. Probably thousands upon thousands of kids listen to this crap, but don't end up becoming violent or murdering people. It goes the same for violent movies, TV shows, and video games.
I agree with you "DRWong". To blame it on music, come on, please. If that was the case, can we say it was the clothing that he was wearing that made him kill, the type of food he ate. For whatever reason, he made a choice and now he has to pay for it.
