Another politician changing his stripes for political expediency.

Again Newsday says immigrants when they should being saying illegal aliens.

For them to try to change the meaning and to promote illegal immigration as legitimate shows they are no better than communist newspapers under the old Soviet Union.

Mr.Harry Withers your party is fast crumbling apart. Better change your old backroom politics and corrupt ways fast.

Now, now, dear people. Do you really think that Hennessy is really the traitorous, trecherous, Benedict Arnold scoundrel you make him out to be.

Ed just is tired of being a second fiddle, which he would be if he ran as a Republican against Bissonette, and won. Which he could. I mean, even Cranky says he's a good community leader.

Oh no, Ed is a traitorous, trecherous, Benedict Arnold scoundrel who wants to be IN CHARGE. His mountainous ego INSISTS upon it. Tax Receiver? He'd be in CHARGE. His former supporters and counselors told him how wonderful he is, and he can't lose. To Carol?

Ed's ego says, Don't win to be victorious over Carol. BE VICTORIOUS AND BE IN CHARGE, it screams.

Ed knows he can't win to be in charge. So if you can't fight 'em, join 'em, Right, Ed?

Hennessey is a typical democrat: when you cant win, you simply change uniforms and play for the other side. Gee wasn't this the guy who ran up against Foley and criticized him all the way to election day? Wasn't this the same Hennessey, who in his concession speech, vowed to fight for the republican party?

Hennessey can't run for his old seat on the town board because Councilman Mazzei has formed a friendship with Councilwoman Bissonnette. Mazzei would not support Hennessey as the former Supervisor John LaValle chose not to endorse either. He can't run for Supervisor in November because Bob Dicarlo has that spot. So Hennessey does what is best for himself and that is to leave his friends who have suported him through the years, stab them in the back, and switch parties.

Does anyone remember the last guy to switch parties and think it was a good idea? It was Mike Forbes. Oh come on now, did we forget he was a Congressman who was a republican turned democrat and now probably works in Stop N Shop.

Good luck Hennessey, but your path is heading towards aisle #9.

I'd have more respect for Ed Hennessey if he had a sex-change operation and starred in a lesbian porno film with Hillary Clinton. Ewwww.

Ed Hennessey, is changing party because he is trying to get off the hook with all the investigations that are going on with the Republican party in Brookhaven, when you're dirty, hide amongst those that you fear. Maybe you'll be bypassed, or you can start making deals....

Ed Hennessey is just another ex-politician looking for his moment in the lime light. He is a jerk.

Hennessey by any other name is still a rat. He can't get his way with one party so he switches to the other. It's time for citizens to take back their townships by running JOE CITIZEN with a grass roots campaign. The theme is " bring back honesty to government". Any other solution is a day late and a dollar short.

It's disgraceful how Hennessey has suddenly changed his tune on illegal aliens. Either you support the rule of law or you don't. What other laws will he decide to ignore?

After wandering for 40 years they came to the Jordan River (not unlike the Rio Grande). They crossed the Jordan and they went into Canaan. There they slaughtered the inhabtants and took their land. The point is?

Ed is an intelligent person who tells it like it is.. And for him to stand up and make this big of a change is a credit to his character and shows his courage - in fact there's alot of brookhaven republicans thinking the same thing - but aren't gutsy enough to do it... I support Ed.... The republican party is a train wreck - it has no chairperson - it's completly broke - and the only good local (home grown) politician - was Ed - and now he is called a democrat... way to go Ed - you have balls as big as church bells.....
